Taehyung continued to pull me down the sidewalk until we reached town. "Let go of me!" I yelled at him. He finally let go of my hand when we were in front of the same cafe Hei Ran and I went to. He held the door open so I could walk through. "Ladies first." I smiled and walked through the door to the counter. Taehyung caught up with me and stood by my side.
"So, what are you gonna get?" I looked up to meet his eyes. "I think I might get a caramel macchiato." I said. "Okay, I will tell him what you want, why don't you go find somewhere we can sit." He smiled. Ugh that smile again! "No, I can't just let you pay for my drink." I argued. "Well it's only fair, I mean I did drag you all the way out here." Taehyung said blankly. He's right, he did drag me out here.
I decided to listen to him and find a table to sit at. I found a small table in the back with two chairs on each side by the window. It was the perfect spot! I walked over and sat down looking outside the window. I thought about how thankful I am for Taehyung walking me home, he was really a nice friend.. friend? I don't even know him that well.. We don't even know each other and we are acting like close friends. Maybe I should take this chance and get to know him better.
I saw Taehyung's reflection in the glass window approaching me. He sat down in the chair across from me and looked outside the window with me. "What are you looking at?" He laughed. "Nothing, I'm just thinking."
"Thinking about what?" Taehyung seemed a little confused, so I filled him in. "Well don't you think it's kinda funny how we barely know each other, and we are acting so close?" That seemed to make him understand. "Maybe we have that connection." He shrugged his shoulders. Ugh, i'm blushing again, aren't I.
"Here are your drinks." The waiter set down our drinks on the table and left. I took a sip of my drink and didn't realise I had cream on the side of my mouth. I looked up at Taehyung who was staring at me while laughing. "What? what's so funny?" I turned my phones camera on, and looked at my face closely. Down in the corner of my lips I had cream on my mouth. I swiftly turned my phone off and reached for a napkin that was sitting on the table. I wiped my mouth off and looked to Taehyung shyly. "Did I get it all off?" I set the napkin back down on the table.
"Yes, it's all gone." He nodded his head and continued to drink what looked a frappuccino. Taehyung set his drink back down on the table and asked, "What is your favorite color?" I was surprised by his straight forward question. "Purple, why?" I looked at him questionably. "Well, if we are going to be neighbors we need to get to know each other more." He was right, I want to take this chance to get to know him better.
"What's your favorite color?" This was such a basic question, but I mean you have to start somewhere. "My favorite color is grey." He smiled. I tried to not notice his smile to keep me from blushing. "Do you have any siblings?" Taehyung asked curiously. I shook my head no and asked a question back. "How many girlfriends have you had?" He looked at me wide eyed, I smirked a little at his expression. I crossed my legs and folded my arms. "Hmm, I think two." He said blankly. "At least you aren't a player." I mumbled underneath my breath. "What was that?" Taehyung was staring at me. I stood up from my seat and looked down at him. "N- Nothing, let's get going!" I walked out the cafe's doors and started to head home.
"Y/N, wait up!" Taehyung was yelling from behind me. I turned around to see a struggling Taehyung trying to help two girls take a picture. I laughed a little at how awkward he looked trying to take their picture. I walked over, snatched the camera in his hands and stood in front of him. I angled the camera right in front of my face and snapped the picture. I handed the two girls the phone back and smiled. "Unnie, is he your boyfriend?" One of the girls smiled. "Not yet." They both squealed and I couldn't help but laugh. "You girls be safe on your way back home okay?" I said seriously. "Nae." They turned around and walked into the cafe.
I was walking back to Taehyung when I thought, I don't like Taehyung do I? It's to early for me to like him. We are just really good friends that's all. I nodded my head to myself. Yeah, that's it, just good friends. "You ready to head home?" I was gonna reply but I got distracted from the yummy smell in the air. "Yeah, just hold on a second." I started jogging to look where the smell was coming from. I rounded the corner of the street and saw a Korean BBQ truck. The line wasn't that long so I hopped in. I clicked my phone on and saw I had a notification from my mom. I clicked on it and read her message.
Mom: Y/N honey, I'm so sorry, we are gonna be home late once more.
I rolled my eyes, they are never home anymore..
"Next!" I looked up and saw I was next in line, I shuffled up closer to the truck and told him my order. "Hi, can I have one bulgogi on a stick..and hmm..Taehyung what do you wa-" I looked around me but couldn't find Taehyung. "Actually can you make that two bulgogi's on a stick." I smiled warmly. (If you don't know what bulgogi is, it's just spicy meat.)
"Will that be all for you ma'am?" the worker asked. "Yes sir." I handed him my money out of my backpack, and stepped out of line so he could take the next person's order. "Ugh I shouldn't of ran off like that, Taehyung must be worried about me.." I knew I couldn't text him because I didn't have his number in my phone. "Maybe he is still waiting for me at the cafe?"
"Two bulgogi's!" The man was holding the meat outside the truck for me to reach. I grabbed them both and slightly bowed to say thank you. I made my way back to the cafe hoping Taehyung was still there. It was becoming dark, so it was kinda hard to see. "Taehyung?" I called out into the night. "Tae, where are you?" People were now looking at me as they were walking by which only made me more anxious. "Tae-" I bumped into somebody's side, just when I was about to bow to apologize they grabbed me by my shoulders. "Y/N!" They pulled me into the light of the street lamp.
"Taehyung?" You could tell he was worried by the expression on his face. "Why did you take so long, I thought something happened!" I felt guilty, I knew I shouldn't have ran off like I did. "I'm sorry, but can you accept this as my apology?" I showed him the meat and he laughed. "I mean, you did go through all the trouble to get this, so I will accept." He took the meat from my hands and ate a piece off. "Wow, this is good!" He said while eating.
"Yah! Don't talk and chew with your mouth open!" I playfully hit his arm. We then continued our walk home, chatting and getting to know each other better. But what I didn't realise was that my feelings for Taehyung were building up more and more.
