Once I got to class I just drew and talked to Kar. All class. Then I walked to Stage Crew (SC). Our teacher last year was- (how do I say completely incompetent at crew work nicely?) well whatever the case, now we have a teacher who knows what he's doing. His name is Mr. Queen. Also the people in SC are- well we're special. We have a lot of weird inside jokes. And we're really a second family for all of us. Actually more of a first family for some of us... I'll give you a rundown of my second family:

Madden (Mads)- really cute and amazing and smart and- well I'm biased. I've liked him as more than a friend for ages. And he knows. But that's not important right now. I'll bore you with the details later.

Kiki- tries to fix everyone's problems, definitely the mama bear of the family.

Mirahn- loves her drama and will make other people move quicker to give her some.

Kaya- really sweet, pretty quiet and laid back.

And of course there are more, but those are some of the most key players in SC for this story. So I walked in and- wait do you want do hear about Mads? Or later? Well you probably don't want to hear yet. I'll let you get to know all of them first.

So as I walk in, in a much better mood than I was in 10 minutes ago, and I find my usual group. Madden, Kiki, Mirahn, Kaya, and a couple others. Wade- oh also he's in SC. It's... interesting. Anyway, he's talking about street tacos. He adores his street tacos. Not bad taste, I'll give him that. We talk for about twenty minutes then we finally sit down, when Mr. Queen looks up and realizes he has another class. He clears his throat.

"Today we're going to keep working on the set. We're going to finish up today and prime the main flats for painting next class period."

Yes! We're so close to painting! I thought.

I was so excited about painting. I'm honestly not sure why. We walked to the theater, which has the Scene Shop backstage and Mads came up to me. Then, of course, I lost the ability to speak English coherently.

"Hi, Mae." he said, as cool as ever. While I was blushing. A lot. 'Cause that's just how I do.

"Hey, how was English?" I asked, nervously, and very, very awkwardly.

"It was pretty good. Mrs. Atkins gave us another essay though."

"Oof, I-I'm sorry. Essays are- um- evil." I stutter, mentally screaming, like every time I talk to Mads.

        "Can't argue with that."

As we made it to the theater, Queen gave the keys to Mads and he jogged off to open all the doors backstage. Because he's just that nice. Man, I fell hard for that kid. I just wish we were the same age. And that I could talk to him like a normal person. Did I mention he's a grade above me? It's really sad. He'll be in college for a year before I am which means he'll be gone. For a year. A year-long nightmare. At least there's tech to communicate. Oh, I guess I still haven't told you the backstory about me and Mads.
