A car speeds off down the road, nothing in sight for miles. An older child sat in the back seat, staring out the window. The only indicater that pointed to them not being lost was the GPS, telling then to stay on that road for a few more miles. Then they'd make it to their destination.
The child started scrolling through their phone, texting people pictures of the scenery. Would be tranquil if they weren't in the middle of no where.
"Dad? Where are we heading again?" The child sat up, looking at the driver.
"A town your aunt lives in, since I have to go to a meeting across country, it's only fair you have someplace to stay with actual people and not alone in the house." He put his attention back to the road.
The child sighed, going back to scrolling through their phone. They were pretty sure this was going to be quite the odd summer.
