Aife slammed Amaya against the filing cabinet, catching her completely off guard. "Fee? What the hell?!" Amaya yelled as she struggled against her enraged friend.
"What did you do to him?!" Aife screeched. "What did you do, Amaya?!"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Amaya yelled, refusing to stand down. "What did I do to who?"
"To your brother, mutton-head! To Afran! What did you do?" Aife bared her teeth. Amaya continued to fight, but stayed silent. Aife shook her roughly. "Amaya!" Her high-pitched shriek filled the service room. Using it as a distraction, Amaya slipped free from Aife's grasp, and darted to the other side of the room. She pulled a Gladius from a sheath attached to her pants.
"Don't come any closer, Aife." Amaya warned. "I don't want to hurt you."
"Yeah? Well if that's the case, you wouldn't have gone messing around with your brother's emotions! You think I'm oblivious, just a friend, someone to hang with you aren't going full blown assassin and chopping people's heads off for the fun of it! I saw you slip his drink. You knew I had a thing for him, and he had one for me. And you were fine with it!" Aife paused, panting. "I don't understand," She whispered. "What changed?"
Amaya sighed, but kept the Gladius pointed directly at Aife's throat. "Well," she began. "You think I want my best friend hanging around with my brother? That's a sure fire way to lose both of you at once? And who's gonna be there to comfort you when he breaks your heart? Me. Because you just have to go and run after every boy on the street! You think you know what I am, but you have not a duck's quack about who I was. Before this, before ANY of this, I was a daughter. I was a sister. I was a girlfriend. And I was a best friend. What can I call myself now? The Alphaverse's Assassin? Really? And besides, having this stupid title changed all that. And I never knew why. So excuse me for wanting my brother to be happy for the first time in his life. Excuse me for wanting him to be with a girl I know can help keep him out of trouble. Excuse me for wanting to be normal. I think I'll excuse myself now, and leave." She glared at Aife, lowered her weapon, turned on her heel, and left.
Aife stood, rooted to the spot, shell shocked. "What have I done?" She whispered. She tore out of the room in pursuit of Amaya. "May, wait!"

Afran pulled away from Braelynn. "How did I get here?" Braelynn gaped at him, open mouthed. "Where am I? Who are you? What's going on?" Afran blinked, as though waking up to a bright light.
"Afran?" Braelynn whispered. He looked at her blankly. "You don't know who I am, do you?" He shook his head. "Afran. Exactly three hours and forty-seven minutes ago you took me aside and kissed me, and ask me to be your girlfriend. I don't get it. What happened?"
"It's like," He stuttered slightly. "It's like I'm waking up." Braelynn turned away, her eyes downcast, hugging herself. "Hey Braelynn?" Afran said quietly. She turned slightly. "I may have only just met you, but.... I..... I really want to get to know you more." Afran smiled.
Braelynn shyly returned his smile. "I'd like that." She nodded. "But perhaps...... well, let's take it a bit slow, don't you think?"
Afran nodded in response. "Agreed."
Braelynn smiled and grabbed his hand, well tried to. At the very same time he ran his hands through his hair. They laughed together, and she actually seized his hand. "Come on. My ship is due to leave soon." Together, they exited the closet, and turned down the corridor. Amaya came around the corner just as they did from the opposite direction, and smacked right into them.
"Afran, I took the curse off. You don't have see Braelynn anymore." Amaya muttered, her head downcast.
To her utmost surprise, Afran laughed, Braelynn along with him. "I decided I like Braelynn anyway. You know yourself, Amaya, the spell doesn't work without an initial feeling. We're gonna go back to the Benevolent ship. Too many laws about interspecies here."
"You literally read my mind, May. I was legit about to go after your brother, but instead he came after me!" Braelynn laughed.
Amaya stood there awkwardly, rubbing her skin. "Okay.....well, that's great, I guess. I've gotta go anyway. We're going to Carcass now. I'll see you later." She hurried off.
Braelynn laughed. "Your sister is so funny. For an assassin, she's so awkward." She laughed again as they walked off.

Amaya sprinted onto the craft, throwing a jacket over her shoulders. "Sorry I'm late," she muttered to Jacobi, who was tapping his foot. He nodded in acceptance and hurriedly shut the door behind her. Justin, from the cockpit, yelled, "All aboard!"
"Aye, mate! All set to go!" Jacobi yelled back. Justin smacked the autopilot button, and the craft rose up into the air. The trio flopped onto the lounge in the back. "It will take a while to get to Carcass," Jacobi informed the other two. "So get yerselves comfy." Justin crawled over the sofa to where Jacobi was stretched out and snuggled up beside him. Amaya smiled at the pair of them, before getting up and heading to the weapons shaft in the very back of the craft.
Amaya pushed open the door to the room, revealing an inky black space, devoid of any light. She fumbled on the wall for the switch to the illuminators. Upon finding it, she flicked it to on. Nothing. Flipping it back and forth repeatedly helped nothing either. Sighing, she ventured into the darkness without a source of illumination. All she needed was a cloth and some cleaner for her Khopeah. Was that too much to ask? It's okay May. She told herself. You're not scared of the dark anyway. Shivering in the eerie silence, she walked forwards, immersing herself in the dark of the night.
Keeping her hands out in front of her, she fumbled around blindly in the dark. Her leg kicked a low-height bench, and she screamed. Clapping a hand over her mouth to cover the sound, she continued forward. Sliding her hand along the bench for anything that might be of any use to her, her fingers grinded to a hault as she slid them over something cool. Something sharp. Her fingers stung. She rubbed them together and brought her hand toward her face to smell her fingers. Blood. Her breathing quickened. Her heart started racing. She started to backtrack, trying to find her way out, but she was lost in the maze of black. She sank to her knees, shaking and quivering. She wasn't in the weapons room anymore; she was far away, lost in a memory. She had been stuck in the dark before. She had smelt the blood before she saw it before. She remembered dragging her fingers over Azure's head. She remember the stench of blood clogging her nostrils. She remembered screaming for Afran. She remembered being silenced, not by Afran, but by him, with a pillow over her mouth. She remembered the inky blackness.
And this time, a scream left her mouth, and the scream did not stop. Tears poured down her face as she rocked in a ball. Justin, from the lounge heard a noise coming from the back door. He saw Amaya, who was sat on the floor, sobbing and weeping. He immediately ran to her, putting his arm around her. "Shhhh, May may. It's okay. I'm here"." He soothed. Slowly her sobs quietened. She wiped the tears off her face, stood, and walked towards the light of the doorway Justin had come through, and broke into a full on sprint as soon as she reached it.
