Heya!
Sorry it's been a while, but here is a lovely new chapter!

Awkwardness hung in the air between Amaya and Justin. Jacobi, oblivious as always, whistled as he steered the ship towards Carcass. Justin caught Amaya's eye, and jerked his head for her to follow him out of the cabin. Quietly, they slipped out the open door, and it closed silently behind them. "Look May-" Justin began.
"Nope. No. Nope. We are not going to talk about this. Not now. Not here. Not ever." Amaya raised her turned up nose to the air.
"Amaya, please!" Justin cried out. The despartation in his voice made her turn around and meet his eyes with a surprised expression. "To show emotion is not to have weakness, but rather, shows strength of being able to admit you have flaws!"
Amaya let out a short, brisk laugh. "You think that the, to quote all those stupid rulers, 'Alphaverse's Assassin' is allowed to show weakness? What do you think would happen, what would happen if a single person saw me cry, or show mercy, or any other form of 'human' emotion?"
Justin sighed. "Amaya.... You forget. You ARE human."
His words sunk in enough for an uncomfortable, troubled expression to fall over her face, if only for a second. Before Justin could even be sure it was there in the first place, it vanished, and an undisputed hardness came over Amaya. "YOU forget. You don't know me."
With that kick to the gut, she turned and began to walk away. However, before she could get far, a loud explosion sounded and a shockwave sent the ship rolling. Alarms screeched, the lights flickered before going out completely and Amaya and Justin were sent flying, Amaya right into Justin's arms.
She began to scramble out of his grip, but he held his body protectively around her until the rolling had ceased. When they both stood up, she whipped around to glare at him. "What the hell was that for?" She hissed.
"I just didn't think I'd be looked upon favourably for bringing back the 'Alphaverse's Assassin' injured, or worse dead." Venom filled his words, and his mouth looked like he had sucked on a lemon. He turned and stalked off. "Jacobi? Jacobi! JACOBI?!?!? Where are you? Jacobi, please! I couldn't bear to lose you!"
Amaya plopped down sulkily on the floor, leading against the wall. She tilted her head back against the wall, and let tears run down her face. She hadn't wanted to yell at Justin, but he didn't understand, and probably never would. Definitely not now. He probably wouldn't want to speak to her again. From far off, she heard a call of, "Justin? Juuuuuuuuuuuuuuuustin?!"
The tears fell faster down her cheeks. She so desperately wanted someone to call for her the way Justin called for Jacobi, and the way he called back. The calling got louder, and she heard footsteps around the corner. Mopping up her tears and sniffing, the crying stopped as suddenly as it started. She pulled herself up off the floor and leaned against the wall, trying her best to appear nonchalant. Jacobi came around the corner to see Amaya, still calling for Justin. His face broke into a weak smile. "Oh, good! Amaya, you're okay!" His smile faded a little. "Have you seen Justin? I didn' even notice you two had left, then I turn 'round, and yer both gone!"
Amaya quickly fastened her face into a cool smile. "Yeah I have actually, he was just down this corridor..." Her voice trailed off as she looked around the deserted corridor. "Do you happen to know what hit us?"
"Yeah, I do actually. We're in Carcass territory.. They attacked us." Jacobi's response was short, and he seemed preoccupied, and angry she was asking.
"Oh, uh, that's no good." Amaya stammered, backing away slightly, she hadn't ever been on the brunt of Jacobi's temper; in fact, she'd never seen Jacobi mad.
"No." He said shortly. Silence fell over them, only broken by a far-away beeping of some alarm or another.
"Jacobi?" A call came from around the corner. Justin poked his head into the hall, and disappointment filled his features upon seeing Amaya, before delight at seeing Justin filled his features. "JACOBI!" He ran to Jacobi, flinging his arms out for a hug. Even emotionless Amaya felt her heart melt a little at the way they held each other, tender and pure, as though they really thought they had lost each other.
Amaya felt a lump appear in her throat, and, to give herself something to do, she hurried to the cabin to check the craft for any damage. Sitting in the cockpit, she fiddled with the controls and scanned the craft. Not too bad, just a lot of dented metal. Oh well, that could be fixed. As she stared out into the void of a galaxy, she saw a bright speck in the distance contrasting with the dark red planet. Still daydreaming, she thought it was a pretty star. However, as she continued to look at it, the star got bigger, and bigger, and bigger. Coming back to her senses, she gasped. Scrambling from the room, she let out a shrill scream. "Justin! Jacobi!"
Heavy sounding footsteps thundered around the corner, and Justin and Jacobi skiddied to a halt in front of Amaya. "What? What's happening?" Justin said grouchily. Jacobi looked at him questioningly.
"There's- theresa, uh, a-" Amaya spluttered, still in shock.
"Oh, spit it out, would you!" Justin growled.
"There's a craft coming right for us!" Amaya squeaked, clapping her hands over her mouth and immediately looking ashamed of herself.
"There's a craft?" Jacobi yelled, startled. "Where?!" Amaya pointed to the cabin of the craft. Jacobi and Justin rushed past her to the helm. "SHIT!" floated back to her ears from the driver's seat. Amaya collapsed to the ground outside the room, arms over her head. This was all her fault. If only she hadn't been being a pain, none of this would have happened. Justin was only trying to help. If she had only-
"Requesting Telecom access. Paging unknown Craft. Requesting Telecom access." Justin's voice held an urgency that snapped her out of her reverie. There had to be something she could do. Suddenly, an idea struck her. She hurried to the storage room, and donned her space gear. She headed to the airlock and prepared for departure.
As the doors began to close in the launching room, Justin came flying in the door. "Amaya! What are you doing?!"
Amaya smiled, albeit sadly. "I'm sorry, Justin. I am so sorry. I'm going to do my part now, and make things right."
By the time Justin had caught on, the doors were already shut, and Amaya was deep in the inky void of blackness.
