Seoul.. One of the most known cities in the world. Every breath of the city, every heartbeat is filled with speed. People are always in a hurry there. In a hurry to leave home. In a hurry to reach the office. Always in a hurry to be a step or two ahead of life. There is no place for anyone who can't cope there.

This city taught her to be independent. It taught her to fulfil her responsibilities. Taught her to face life.. but couldn't teach her to love. When was the time?

Whenever she watched the city from her usual spot, she felt her father closer. Whenever she missed him, she went to that same spot and cried to herself.

Just like now.

She is Bae Joohyun, goes by the name Irene, and this is a her story. The story of a 26 year old. A beautiful girl with heart-shaped lips and deep brown eyes.

Brown eyes, just like her father's. Joonhyung.

After her father passed away, the entire responsibility of the family fell on Taeyeon, her mother. But she never allowed them to ever feel the burden of her sorrows.

Irene lives with her mother, grandmother, little brother Taehyung and her little step sister Lily. Ever since her father passed away; her grandmother,  Eunmi, mother-in-law, treated Taeyeon and Lily as if they were nothing. She only seemed to like Irene and Taehyung.

....

"Mom, I'm home!" Irene yelled, walking through the door. She then saw a pile of black hair tower over the back of the couch.

Taeyeon quickly wiped away her tears. "Where were you?" she asked, trying to sound as normal as possible.

"Central Park."Irene said.

"Central Park? Why?" Taeyeon asked.

"To meet someone."

Taeyeon turned around to look at her daughter. "Who?!" she asked.

"My prince charming on a beautiful white horse" the younger woman smirked.

"God, Joohyun. For a moment I thought you finally had a date."Taeyeon said, turning back to the television.

Irene laughed and picked up a stack of mail on the table. "Bills, bills, bills... Private & confidential?" she frowned.

Taeyeon jumped up and grabbed the envelope out of her daughter's hands. "That's mine." She said.

Irene raised an eyebrow but continued to look through the mail. "What is this? It's Nayeon's mail again. When will the mailman understand that Nayeon doesn't live here? He always..." she suddenly stopped talking when she looked into her mother's eyes for the first time since she walked in. "Have you been crying?" she asked.

"No, you have been crying." Taeyeon said.

Irene rolled her eyes. "No, mom." They both lied to each other, like every day.

Irene continued to look through the mail again. "Marriage bureau? Mom, what is this?" she frowned.

"Why don't you ask your grandmother?" Taeyeon said coldly. "It must be a new plan to find you a husband. You know how old fashioned and religious she is."

"But I don't even want to get married. Why doesn't Grams leave me alone?" Irene said furiously. She hated the way her grandmother always tried to find her a husband, as if she was going to get married to someone she doesn't even know.

"Why doesn't she just leave." Taeyeon grinned.

"Mom!" Irene said, poking her mother. "Where is she anyway?" she asked.
