These two ladies were part of my advisory class. They were a bit tactless or reckless in expressing how they feel, even in jest.

Karen, according to her and her classmates, would skip classes just so she could watch the athletes do practice in the gym. Once, she escaped from my class allegedly to join an athlete in going somewhere. She was supportive of sports events and usually bought tickets.

However, there was a time when she was sad. She could not specify exactly what happened but she said she gave everything. She complained that why do boys play with the feelings of girls. She explained that she has been too naïve. She was a willing victim.

She did not want to discuss the details. But we talked about it. I made effort trying to understand her general, seemingly abstract statements. Then, we tried talking about certain principles. I affirmed that, regardless of the circumstances, a girl's heart should not be played with. Yet I made it clear that she has to be careful the next time. I told her how I disciplined myself, and still trying to improve, in making sure I would not have to carelessly break a girl's heart.

I don't know if she understood, believed, or agreed everything I said. But, to my surprise, she said she was willing for me to sleep in bed with her. This kind of situation continued, and she would tell me different versions of what she said. She would say that she finds me trustworthy and she wanted me to be her husband. Later, she said she was willing to be my fling or paramour. She said she just wants a man she could trust.

She and Kissable Lips, one of her classmates, would usually hug me. They'd do that more often when they wish to have high grades. In one occasion, they asked me to sit between them in class. They were having a group discussion and I thought it was about that. But, they just both hugged me.

Kissable Lips then had a photo with me while she was hugging me. She posted it in social media and tagged me. My friends saw the photo and they cheered, noting her lips. Kissable Lips was so proud and happy for that.

If you think I was a willing object throughout their careless expression of feelings, whether they were serious or in jest, you are mistaken. I always found ways to refuse. I practiced grace and humor in declining. I often gave my usual reply: "I am your teacher. You need grades. I don't believe this. I cannot be swayed by such words or expressions."

It was in this class where their other classmates told me: "Grabe ka naman, sir. Para kang virgin."

Karen went back to school after her graduation. She had some problems and would like to talk to her other teachers. I also talked to her upon seeing her she was sad. I don't know how our discussion came to this but she said that all of the things she told me, everything she offered, was partly serious. She was in jest but, at the same time, she was serious. I said I hope her life gets better.

As for Kissable Lips, I am unsure if she graduated. The last time I remember, she failed a lot of subjects. Then, she got pregnant. I had a student from another section who became her boyfriend. She stayed in his place. The guy's sister left them alone at home. After that, Kissable Lips got pregnant. While she loved her baby, I wish she could have at least graduated.
