I wake up to the smell of pancakes. And then I smell a fire and see the smoke. I run into the kitchen, grab the burning pan of bacon, and dump it in the sink. I take a breath and look around for anything else that might be on fire. Man, she really is my child.

"Sorry mom. I still can't go one morning without burning something. Or setting something on fire." As true as that statement is I know Kailyn feels bad.

"Hey, it's alright sweetheart. At least it wasn't the pancakes this time. And I never go a morning without burning something or setting something on fire either. This just proves that we can't cook and that you are utterly and completely my daughter. Now, are your pancakes ready because as much as we destroy food I love your pancakes when they are not on fire." We both break out into fits of laughter.

After eating breakfast we get dressed. I look down at my phone and I see a text. "Hey Kailyn, I will be gone for like an hour or two. Ray texted me. Something about a level tree aberration anachronism thing. He seems unsure himself. I will just be near the Waverider. Will you be okay?" I ask. Kailyn knows about everything, even her bio-father, but no one knows she does. No one even knows about her. Which is part of the reason why I ask these kinds of questions. If anyone sees her it might be the end of the world. I might be exaggerating. But I don't want her to be seen. And she understands why, thank god. the other reason is that I am her mother and it is in the job description to worry.

"Ya, mom, I'll be fine. Go, have fun, save the world again, see your beautiful girlfriend and the rest of your team, kick ass. Everything will be fine." She says as she pushes me out the door.

"Bye, love you!" I call and kiss her forehead.

"Love you too." She blows me a kiss before shutting the door.

-One hour later-

'Ring' 'Ring'

"Who's that, babe?" Ava asks as we are a two minutes walk away from the Waverider with the rest of the team. Ava and I are holding hands. The other Legends are now focusing their attention on me and my ringing phone.

"No one." I say. But I have this weird feeling in my gut. "Hello?"

"Mom," I hear sniffles and someone crying.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask my daughter, the weird feeling that I am having only getting stronger by the second.

"I fell. I slipped and I fell on my wrist and it hurts really bad mom." More cries. Oh no. Oh no. Oh god no. I start to bolt towards the ship, letting go of Ava's hand, and I hear the team racing after me. I hear them calling my name but I don't acknowledge them. My only focus is my child who is crying and sounds in pain.

"Okay just breath, in and out, in and out. Can you do that for me?" I get to my chair. Everyone is on the ship now, confused but sitting down after they see me seated.

"Ya I think so." More sniffles.

"Good just do that okay? In and out. Deep breaths."

"Sara, what's happening?" Amaya asks. I don't answer. Everyone's looks of concern get bigger and more and more visual.

"Mom it hurts." Kailyn is starting to breath harder and faster. That won't be good.

"I know okay just stay on the phone with me? Can you do that?" I ask. "I am almost in Star City. Just hang on. And don't look at your arm." Kailyn gets easily sick with blood and broken bones. I just want her to be okay. I am trying to be strong for her but her in pain is something I had hoped to avoid in life. For both our sakes.

"I already did. I looked at it when I fell, then a minute later I called you and now I am dizzy and my stomach is doing somersaults." Crap. "Everything is spinning, mom."

"Okay I just landed the ship by the apartment where are you?" I am just trying to get Kailyn to talk to keep her mind off of her potentially broken wrist while I am hopping off the Waverider, Ava in tow. I start sprinting somewhere. Anywhere but here. Where is she?

"Outside on the grass next to the apartment. Mom it hurts."

"I know okay? I see you." I hang up and sprint to her. Ava is following me asking me what is going on but I keep my focus on my daughter. When i get to Kailyn, she looks like she is going to have an anxiety attack. She is still crying.

"Deep breaths, you're about to have an anxiety attack and pass out." By now Ava has caught up to me and I am walking Kailyn to the ship. If I ever had just sucked it up and decided that Ava was going to meet Kailyn sooner, which I have always wanted, I really didn't want it to be like this.

"Sara who is this and what is happening?" Ava asks concerned. I can tell she is starting to panic, especially when she sees Kailyn's wrist.

"Later" is the only word that I can get out to her while we are boarding the ship. Kailyn is now shaking uncontrollably, Ava is highly concerned, and the team keep asking me questions as to why I brought a stranger onto a time ship filled with time traveling superheros. Do they take me for an idiot or something?

Once in the medbay, I had Kailyn lay down and I sat down on her left. She had hurt her left wrist and her right hand was across her stomach, holding my right hand, while my left hand was brushing the hair out of her eyes. "Mom it really hurts. Please make it stop." Seeing my daughter in pain and tears hurts me. By now all the Legends have heard what she had said and are staring at us. Including Ava.

"I know baby, I know. Someone get the bracelet on her. Gideon sedate her. Now people!" I respond to Kailyn, and instruct the Legends on what to do. "Baby, look at me. I want you to close your eyes, okay? Just look at me, I'm not going anywhere." She gives me a small nod and her eyes start to shut. When they do the Legends are still looking at us like they have never seen us before. And they haven't met Kailyn, but me? I don't like the looks they are giving me. That is exactly why I didn't tell them yet. "Gideon, fix whatever is wrong. Do it as fast as your Artificial Intelligence mind can go." I continue to instruct.

"Yes, Captain Lance." my AI replies. Right when she says that Kailyn starts to stir. "Crap" In all this drama I almost forgot that she is immune to most sedatives. And telepathic gorilla mind control. But that is a story for another time.

"Gideon, stronger sedative!" I yell. The team must hate me now but I don't care. I'll worry about that later. Later as in when Kailyn is awake and well. And

"Yes, Captain Lance."
