*A week has passed since Mary and Dan had appeared in Ben’s life, quite a lot has happened since then. Dan has set the living room on fire multiple times already. Life has nearly been hell for Benjamin and Mary, but, not quite. There was a point to where things were tolerable. Mary usually handled things by throwing something at Dan, while Benjamin tried to resolve things calmly. How many explosions have occurred in his home for the past two weeks? At least five.*
[ It’s early in the morning, and Benjamin doesn’t exactly trust these two to be by themselves in his home quite yet. Maybe if it was just Mary, since she doesn’t do much, but Mary with Dan was a calm storm or chaos. Just last week, Dan put Mr. Scruffles in the microwave to see what would happen! Right now, Ben was driving his cheap volvo to StarYen, a chain cafe that Ethan worked at. He was going to need some coffee if he wanted to stay awake- He hadn’t slept at all last night due to the insistent bickering between Dan and Mary in the other room. They really don’t get along- or, well, Mary doesn’t take teasing well. At all. She doesn’t seem to be fond of being touched either if it isn’t her hand.]
Benjamin: So, neither have you have tried lattes before, and i’m exhausted out of my mind, so can you guess where I’m driving you two? *He asked this rhetorically, but was still bound to get an answer*
Mary: A market? *Wow, you can get beverages in a market? She was so used to making her own. This was amazing!*
Benjamin: Nope- but you can buy things there. Dan probably knows what we’re doing. *Benjamin’s voice still sounded pretty monotone, and he yawned shortly after saying this. They soon arrived and Ben parked in the second closest parking spot, since employee parking was up front for some reason. He got out of the car, and had to help Mary figure out the door handle so she could get out too.* M’kay, no funny business in here, guys. Or I’m not getting you shit. *he said sternly.*
Mary: *she followed Benjamin into the shop, holding onto his sleeve. Ooh, this place had “electronic lights” too! Did every building have this? It must be so nice not worrying about your candle running out. It also smelled rather nice in here too, and was very clean.* Oh my. *She mumbled, looking around at the other people in the store. A lot of young people were holding up their small rectangular boxes to their drinks for a few solid moments, then pulling it back as if to stare at it again. One young lady held it to her face with her drink and puckered her lips. What an odd gesture.* What are they doing?
Benjamin: Boosting their ego. *Ben replied grumpily, looking at all of the teens around him. Ugh, please don’t tell me that duck lip trend is starting up again. He thought as they waited in line. Benjamin occasionally looked back to see where Dan was, and he caught him chatting up a young woman. Amazing.*
Mary: Are we next? *She asked, observing the line. There were three people in front of them, all looking drowsy.*
Benjamin: No, not yet. We’ve got to wait for these people to order first. Not everyone comes in groups. *he mumbled, sticking his hands in his coat pockets. When it came their turn to order, Dan still was talking to that girl who clearly wasn’t interested, so he decided since he wasn’t in line, he wasn’t going to get him anything- wait, no, he’ll just get him an extra small one. Benjamin ordered two medium lattes, not soy thank god, and an extra small one. Their drinks were soon ready, and he picked them up, handing Mary the second medium. He walked over to Dan and handed him the extra small.* Here.
Rebecca: *Just clocking in, Rebecca finishes getting ready for her day at work and walks into the main shop, waving at Ethan as she does. She adjusts her human glasses on the bridge of her nose and notices Ben is here. She hasn’t seen him since before Mary came into his life, and hasn’t been able to really talk to Ethan this past week so she is wholly unprepared for what she’s about to see. Is that a demon he’s talking to? Why would he be associated with- oh my fuck that’s Dan. Her mood immediately drops, she hasn’t seen him since they broke up. Her first reaction is to grab the first thing she sees and chuck it at his head, that thing being a salt shaker than had been sitting on the counter.* What the fuck are y- *a hand wraps around her mouth and pulls her back into the other room.*
