Carol's POV

"Are you going to explain what happened then?"

"Nope." Carol grinned.

"What if I offered to go within ten metres of Goose?"

"Tempting, but no."

Talos groaned. Carol knew the suspense would drive him crazy. Then again, with the amount of time she spent with the Skrulls, it was a miracle they hadn't gone mad with her cockiness.

Maybe they had gone crazy, but it was hard to tell with Skrulls. Being extremely talented at recognizing emotions, they weren't really bothered about showing them.

Which was why Carol was trying harder then usual to hide the... feelings she had never felt before, something she could only describe as... love?

"No she does not like him!" Pyre immediately started screaming.

"Yes she does!" Vers yelled.

"Both of you, shut up!" Carol mentally shouted at them.

Why was she hearing two different versions of herself in her head? Something was not right...

Carol hoped that this didn't affect the way she acted. She couldn't bear what everyone else would think if Vers or Pyre popped up without warning.

"Hey, is something wrong?" Talos' voice rang out in concern.

So much for concealing her emotions.

"Oh, not much... I'm just tired." Carol faked a smile.

"You? Tired? If you mean you're actually tired for once, I'm worried. Or you could be tired of coffee. Please say you're tired of coffee."

"I love coffee!"

"I have seen first hand what one sip of coffee does to you, and haven gotten rid of all caffeine sources, so I do not have to experience it again." Talos shuddered at the memory.

"Oh. Guess I'll just ask the Guardians for some." Carol replied with an evil grin.

"I've already told them what happens when you get hyper."

"Dang it."

Carol was thankful that she never told Talos that tea contains caffeine. Now she could get her daily dose of caffeine. British style. (As a British person I can confirm we are obsessed with tea)

But the real question was... why weren't there coffee bags? Carol never understood that part. Maybe Britain was just filled with smart people. (I can also confirm this is NOT true, I know millions of British idiots, most of them attending my school)

Watching Talos stand up and leave, Carol's mind drifted back to the two consciousnesses that were discussing something to do with the Kree Empire.

"Please stop guys-" Carol was slightly surprised.

Vers and Pyre went into complaining mode, driving Carol to the edge. This was her mind, and she didn't want to have to share it.

Boy, this was going to be difficult...

"Why are you even in here?" She asked.

"I've been here for ages, didn't you notice?" Vers huffed.

"Wait, what?"

"Ever since you put yourself back in charge. Who do you think kept telling you how you feel about Thor? You've only let me talk since you met him though, why?"

Carol was shocked. She hadn't realized that Vers had been in her head all this time... although come to think of it... she had felt Carol assume where her Kree instincts pushing her to leave the Skrulls... but Carol had only ever heard Vers after she met Thor.

"And Pyre? What about you?"

"Only recently, when you ditched the Kree again." Pyre snorted, obviously not happy.

That made sense... it would take Pyre a short while to get used to not being in charge... that explained why she had only heard Vers for a short while after she broke free...

But could Carol remain in charge long enough to drive them out...?
