I woke feeling drained. I felt Heath’s arms around me in a vice grip. I shook him gently as I sat up and held my head. He groaned and blinked his eyes open. I couldn’t seem to remember what happened after we got in the water.

“Are you okay?” he mumbled. I only shrugged.

“What happened yesterday?” I asked. He sighed and sat up, pulling me into his chest.

“You thought you saw your sister, and you went chasing after her,” he explained gently. I sighed and covered my face with my hands.

“I ruined our day, didn’t I?” I said. He shook his head and kissed my head.

“No, baby, you didn’t. It’s okay, really. I know that sometimes, things like that will happen. I understand that you have PTSD and that doesn’t go away just because you want it to,” he said softly. I sighed and closed my eyes.

“I’m sorry,” I whispered. He held my chin and made me look at him.

“There’s nothing to be sorry for,” he assured me. He kissed me passionately for a moment before He pulled away to search my face. He smiled gently and laced his fingers with mine. “I love you,” he said softly. I found myself smiling gently as I kissed him. I really had the best boyfriend ever.

“I love you too,” I said softly. I took a quick shower and changed into the extra pair of clothes Brooklyn packed for me. We ate breakfast in the cabana before checking out. Heath set our things in the car before we went to the boardwalk. Overall, it was a relaxing day that I would remember for quite some time.
