"Jungkook!" I instantly hugged him when I heard the gunshot. Jungkook had swiftly turned around, back facing the bad guy and pulling me into a tight embrace.
Jungkook was protecting me. He was taking that bullet for me. He was sheltering my useless counterpart. He had been shot because of me, what should I do?
"Jungkook, are you alright?" I cried myself out loud, pulling out of the embrace to see him if he got hurt. My anxiety and worry were all over the place.
"I'm fine..." Jungkook whispered back, surprising to see my tears.
He wasn't shot; I didn't see blood coming out from Jungkook's back. Sighing in relief, I realized that both the gunshot and the person that got hurt were someone else.
We turned our heads toward the door as Jungkook still securely covered for me. One of the men behind the main bad guy was shot down, bleeding and unconscious on spot. Noticing a companion was shot, the bad guy's team immediately Pointed their guns at the door. The blurry scene in front of me seemed to come from an action and suspend movie, which I had never thought I would experience it in real life.
Another four figures walked in, backing down the bad guys. Then, those familiar suits were in my sight.
I saw Hoseok and Namjoon first, then Yoongi, and last but not least my favorite, Park Jimin. When I had Jimin in my vision, the weight on my heart vanished like a speck of dust. Somehow, in those previous days that I had spent with him, I gathered enough courage to trust a person like him, a person who I could rely on, a person who I found safe and trustworthy.
He walked in like a true boss when the enemies' faces changed in expression to pale. I guessed they didn't expect Jimin to be here.
"Wow wow wow, look who's here!" The main bad guy said in amusement. He was tall and built like some gym rats, unlike Jimin who was smaller and more slender. "Take one more step, and I'll make sure that Jungkook is dead." He was holding a gun against Jungkook, ready to fire if Jimin and his team dared to move one more step.
I was nervous seeing how the scene was unfolding. Worrying that Jungkook would be shot, worrying that Jimin and the other would be harmed, I mentally prayed for everyone's safety as I clutched Jungkook's arm.
Our little bunny who promised to play games with me was now protecting me, how could I not appreciate this. Jimin, on the other hand, ignored me as much as possible, but he still came home whenever I least expected him the most.
Every evening when he came home, he had already finished dinner. If he was out in the living room, I would try to talk to him about the daily stuff that me and my babysitters did. Jimin would casually listen but rarely answered. If he locked himself in his bedroom, I would still try to talk to him through the door, but all he did was shooing me away.
Maybe I was invading his privacy in many ways.
Back to reality, Jimin smirked, running one hand through his hair. "Sure then."
Before anyone could see anything, Jimin shot that guy twice in both legs. Immediately, Yoongi, Hoseok, and Namjoon all started to fire. A cacophony of gunshots made my heart beat faster than ever. There was a war right before me and being an ordinary girl who lived in a gunshots-free environment, like a reflex, I covered my ears and knelt down while letting out a hoarse yelp.
After a short while, everything stopped.
Jimin didn't even flinch. He kicked the gun in that bad guy's hand toward Jungkook and brutally pressed one of his feet onto the enemy's heavily bleeding wound. Jungkook picked up the gun, back facing me and pointing that gun to the guy who was lying on the floor, defeated and pained.
