Jimin's mother didn't know how could Jimin find out about his father's plan and go home. She hurried me to go hide in the room that I called 'the prison.'
"I didn't want to do this, but Jimin's father wouldn't be happy if Jimin sees you, so..." His mother lightly pushed me back inside the cold room that I was in before. "Just stay here, and I will go get you later."
Then, the door was closed.
I wondered how would Jimin react to this.
Curious about what would happen downstairs, I tried to press my ear against the door, hoping I could hear something.
"You know what I'm talking about!!" All of a sudden, I heard Jimin's voice roaring all the way here.
I was startled. This mansion was huge, and his father wasn't stupid enough to let Jimin stay right close to me. How loud did he scream to be exact?
It went silent for a few minutes before I heard footsteps and some really troubling commotion coming up this way.
Huh? Footsteps?
In a surprise, the door to my room was opened. I thought it was Jimin for a moment, but unluckily, it was just a guard hitting the door right in my face.
"Miss, please hide somewhere in the room. Young master is coming this way."
"Wh-what? Where should I-" Leaving me in confusion, the guard shut the door coldly.
I was calmly looking for a place to hide, but then, I heard Jimin's voice right outside the hallway with many other voices mixed together, all saying something to prevent Jimin from kicking random doors open. There were many rooms within the mansion, so if he wanted to check every single one of them, then...
"Jimin-ah, she's not here, please stop!"
"If father isn't going to tell me where she is, I will find her myself." It was Jimin arguing with his mother, proceeding by dozens of noises coming from the doors being flung open.
Oh shit, my room... he would be here soon.
I could stand here and wait for Jimin to come and get me, but thinking about how great his mother had been treating me, I didn't want to betray her trust. So, as obedient as I could, I frantically buried myself under the piles of old clothes, but it didn't work. Then, I tried to hide under a broken work -- still didn't work. Out of methods, I had no choice but to hide behind five big, heavy wooden boxes right in the far right corner of the room.
Just as I settled in, Jimin aggressively opened the door.
"See? I told you. She's not here! Why would your father keep her? And who is this girl?" His mother was trying to convince him otherwise while I was holding my breath.
I could hear his uneven breathing. Suddenly, it had gotten so quiet that it seemed like he was standing right next to me with his heart racing as fast as the speed of light. I wish I could jump out of my hiding, embracing him with my open arms. But I couldn't, at least not now.
"Let's go back downstairs. Your father is angry." His mother successfully pulled an attempt to trick her son. It was shocking to hear nothing from Jimin, but I guess, he had given up.
When I was sure that the door was closed, I let out a relieved sigh. What a world I'm living in.
"Where did father hide her? Mom, you should know about this!" Just when I was about to step out of my hiding, Jimin's voice was loud and clear right outside that door, meaning that his mother had yet to drag him further away from me.
"How can I know? We're here to enjoy our vacation, how could we possibly kidnap a girl?" His mother responded. "Who is this girl? What happened to Seolah?"
