Chapter Three.

Clarabelle waited for him at the previously discussed location, at a spot right below the old Wanstayne bridge. When Michael finally had the decency to show up, she was tapping her foot impatiently with arms folded against her chest, glaring at his approaching figure. Once the light of the nearby post illuminated his face, she noted that his mouth was curled into an amused smile.

"Sorry I'm late," he said nonchalantly. She ignored this and stayed focused on what she wanted from him.

"The bullets?" she questioned with an arched eyebrow and extending her palm out to the red haired smirking asshole in front of her.

Michael said nothing as he reached inside his leather jacket's pocket and pulled out a small wooden box. He placed it in her hands without any of his usual smart-ass remarks. He knew when to push and when he was better off not upsetting her more.

Clarabelle opened the box that revealed the silver bullets she had been desperately searching for. "Thanks,"she said dryly. Michael nodded.

"Do you still want me to take you to Aconite?" he asked, his voice serious and slightly unsure. Clarabelle was confused at his actions. One minute he was the jerk trying to piss her off and the next he was the guy who was trying really hard not to upset her. It was unnerving that he could change from one to the other so quickly.

"Take me," she said quietly. Michael nodded again, "Follow me. It's not far from here," he replied, moving past her without as much as looking at her. She thought that was weird, but didn't comment on it.

She followed him instead, as he walked through the small patches of grass below the old abandoned bridge. There was a sewer opening under the bridge ahead, that was more like an arc and it was pit black inside from where she was standing. Michael was walking straight to it. Curiosity got the best of her and she spoke to him.

"Where are we going?"

Michael stopped in front of what could well be the hole that sends her straight to hell.

"There's a reason you couldn't find the club, it's not meant to be found by just anyone," he said with a shrug. That was all he said as he lowered his head not to hit the concrete and walked into the sewer opening. "Are you coming?" was heard from inside like an echo, and sending a quick prayer to God or whoever was listening, she followed him inside.

It was definitely dark. She couldn't see her own hands in front of her. But it was surprisingly dry and it didn't smell like human waste. She walked with uncertainty, for she didn't know if she was about to hit a wall or something. No such thing happened, but she did crash into Michael once, when he stopped to choose between two paths.

"Sorry," she muttered.

"No worries, sweetheart," he said, the amusement was back in his voice. Clarabelle thought he was probably bipolar or something of the sorts.

When he chose right, he announced it and she went in that direction. As she walked, the darkness became less dark, and it slowly brightened in orange hues until they came across a pair of lit torches on each side of a steel door. There was no sound coming from behind it.

Michael turned towards her, "We're here". Then he turned towards the doors and knocked three times. The door creaked open, and out came the loud bass of the music. The smell of alcohol sifted through it too.

A big man stood at the door. He took a quick look at Michael and he moved aside to let him through. Michael walked inside and Clarabelle followed, but was startled by the big man stepping in front of her, revoking her entrance.

"She's with me," Michael declared. The big man, with wide brown eyes glared at her but moved aside. Michael was waiting behind him, with a huge smile on his lips. She caught up with him and tensed once he put an arm around her shoulder as they walked. He chuckled.

"Relax, would you? In this place, you're safer staying close to me".

She didn't like the sound of that.

If she was safer staying close to him, she knew that it was a dangerous place to be at.
