When I walked through the front door it was like I was in a different world. Smoke filled the air and it had a pungent odor that stung my eyes before I could get used to it. Lights flickered everywhere and colors swarmed the house making me a little dizzy. The music seemed like it controlled people as its constant rhythmic beat pounded through the house. Dancing was mostly focused in the living room were girls were grinding on guys whose eyes were filled to the very brim with lust.

Drunk adolescents staggered through the warm house carrying their drinks with them. People laughed and talked through the house as the others danced on the make shift dance floor. Familiar faces were scattered about the house and some faces that were new. The party was in full swing and the sight made me laugh. I missed this.

"Come on Mallory let's get a drink." Jamie called to me breaking me out of my daze. I smiled at her and followed suit to the busy kitchen.

We had five rules when went to parties to make sure that we stayed safe.

1. NEVER drink from a punch bowl or an open drink a random person has given to you.

2. Always have a buddy if you want to pee, dance, get a drink, etc.

3. Never go home with a complete stranger.

4. Make sure to have your phone on you at all times.

5. No more than 7 drinks.

So far no one has gotten hurt or had a traumatic experience, so I guess it's worked.

The kitchen was littered with drunk horny teenagers. I squeezed past a group of guys who were chugging down beers and the crowd surrounding them, cheering on the shitfaced idiots. I walked up to the fridge and Jamie opened a cooler close by and grabbed a Shiner Bock. I rolled my eyes at her and reached in the fridge trying to find a water bottle. Food was everywhere, well of course it's a fridge, there was left over Chinese food, no, eggs, no, chicken, no, aha water. I carefully reached over the food and grabbed the cool bottle. With a smile on my face I turned around and closed the fridge's door with my hip, mostly because I just had a mission impossible moment and it was a success.

"Having fun?" I nearly jumped out of my skin, not knowing that someone was watching me. I looked at the person who scared the shit out of me. It was Will, placing my hand over my racing heart I took deep breathes.

"Shit, you scared me." He just chuckled softly and leaned against the counter. "You are Will, right?" He nodded and smirked at me. "Sorry about going through your fridge I just needed to get a water." I guess Jamie ditched me because she was nowhere to be seen, that bitch broke rule #2.

"You're not drinking?" Why can't this guy go away? He was cute but I'm not interested in one of the devil's friends.

"Mhmm." I nodded and unscrewed the water bottle. He look at me puzzled for a few seconds and shifted on his feet. Man was this guy weird, it's not nice to stare! I crossed my arms, feeling awkward under his gaze.

"Why not? It's a party, have fun." I chuckled and rolled my eyes. This dude just wants to get in my pants. There is no way in hell I'm letting that happen.

"I know what you are trying to do?" he looked dumb founded like I just sent him a birthday present that was a dead cat. If it wasn't serious I would have laughed but he wanted to do the nasty with me so...

"What am I trying to do?" Really? He was going to be that guy. Taking a big gulp of my water I let the cold sensation flow through my chest and throat.

"You know, where you try to get me drunk then take me upstairs to fuck my brains out." I shrugged and stirred the water in my bottle. "But I'm not stupid enough to fall for it so go try it on that blonde over there that is looking at you like you are fucking naked." Will just laughed and waved at the blonde and she blushed back. Rolling my eyes at him as he continued to laugh I realized that he was kinda cute....but that was crazy talk, I can't like the enemy.

"That's what you think I'm doing?" His smirk was the only thing that I could see.

"Yes and it's not going to work, so if you excuse me." I started to walk to find Jamie. She would have to be somewhere close or else I was going to kill her.

"Wait." He reached for my elbow, keeping me from moving further to my saftey. I turned and faced him, my patience wearing thin.

"What?" I snapped back at him and he only gave a small grin, tough bastard.

"I didn't catch your name."

"That's a good thing." He gave me a "really" look and I found it semi-amusing. "I don't give my name to guys who just want fuck me while I'm drunk."

"I don't want to do that." I mentally laughed in my head, right. This is the same guy who goes after every girl that looks semi-decent and now he was coming after me.

"Then what do you want to do?" I asked back lifting an eyebrow, he smiled back at me and it made my stomach flip a little. A LITTLE.

"I just want to talk."

"So I was just sitting there with cake all over my mouth and everybody was staring at me." Will laughed so hard he had to hold on to my shoulder for balance. I could feel my cheeks heating up a little since that was a private story I didn't just share with anyone. "Shut up." I shoved his shoulder and tried to calm down, it didn't work.

"So they just stared at you and didn't help?" he asked amusement glinting in his beautiful brown eyes.

"Nope, it was so embarrassing." He laughed again and I nudge him with my shoulder.

We were like this for about an hour, just talking back in forth about what we liked and what not. We found a good quiet spot outside on a trampoline and we sat next to each other while we drank our beverages. Me being the little piggy I am brought along a whole bag of chips and we munched on them while we learned about each other.

Will was the middle child of three boys. His oldest brother was Fredrick who was twenty five and his youngest brother was Lucas who was thirteen. His parents divorced when he was in third grade about six months after Lucas was born. I felt bad for them, at least my parents stayed together....but I was always alone so I guess I could have had worse than him.

He was actually a pretty decent guy, but it's not like we would ever talk again. He would just go back to the group of Satan who he called friends and I would go back to my under the radar group of friends and we would live out the rest of our lives. My life would never be some typical fairy tale that every little girl dreams of.

My phone vibrated in my pocket and I pulled it out. It was a text message from Sage.

SAGE:

Mallory! We are waiting by the car! Got busted for sneaking out! Hurry! :)

I rolled my eyes and started to text my reply. God I hate it when she drunk texted.

Mallory:

I'm on my way. Be safe.

"Everything ok?" I looked up at Will and pushed my phone into my pocket.

"Oh yeah. I have to go because my friend got caught." He frowned slightly but it quickly vanished and he helped me off the trampoline.

"Ok, drive safe." I nodded and started to walk away. "Wait!" I turned around and smiled.

"It's too late to still get in my pants, mister." I teased him and he rolled his eyes back at me.

"Thanks but that's not what I meant." I crossed my arms and looked at him with my head tilted to the side.

"Then what?"

"I still never caught your name." I smiled and my phone started to vibrate again. The girls are probably freaking out.

"Mallory." I turned and ran to the car before the girls started to do the cha-cha slide in the street, again.
