Grey leaned into magnyfing glass. Whomever had painted these had done a very good job. However, they had forgotten the obvious. Grey tilted the arm holding the magnifying glass over towards the bottom left hand corner of each painting. The signature was very similar for paintings one and two: RED FOX

But the third signature was obviously different: Red fOx
"Good artist, poor handwriting. Painting number three is the forgery." Grey said triumphantly. "Correct! Très bien!" The assistant curator congratulated, as he handed over a small metal object. "The key to the supply room," he explained. "You three are on the team."
