I sip my tea, leaning against the counter at the coffee shop while Haz works. I left a bit early for my classes so I figured I'd come get my drink and keep him company. I love hanging out here, he thinks it's a lame job but honestly I think it's so fun. Specifically getting to people watch. You'd be surprised what kind of weirdos come in here.
"So how'd the date go last night?" He asks.
"Surprisingly well." I say. "I had a lot of fun."
"Oh." He says, handing the customer her drink.
"Thanks" the girls smirks at him.
"Yeah" he nods quickly, turning away from her. She scrunches her brows together, looking confused before awkwardly turning and walking away.
"Dude" I laugh. "She was flirting with you and you totally blew her off"
"Not into girls that throw themselves at me." He states.
The door opens, the bell ringing catching my attention. I look to see a blonde woman walking in.
"Hey mum." Haz says.
I look to the woman once more, noticing the similarities. She looks kind, just like her son.
"Hey honey" she says. She looks over to me with a smile. "You must be Addison."
She knows who I am? Harrison talks about me to his family?
"Yes that's me." I say.
"I'm Phil, Harrison's mum. It's nice to meet you." She says, shaking my hand.
"It's great to meet you too, your son is great. He's been very kind to me." I compliment.
"That's the boy I raised." She grins and Haz shakes his head in embarrassment.
"Here's your tea mum." He says, handing her a cup.
The door opens again, and Tom makes his way into the shop. He looks cute, wearing a jean jacket and rocking his messy curls. I didn't find him very attractive when I first met him, but ever since I walked in on him doing push ups in the living room shirtless that had changed a bit. Then getting to see how sweet he could be last night on our date made me attracted to him even more.
"Hey Phil!" He says as he walks up to the counter. Phil hugs him tightly, you can tell they're close, like he's her second son.
"Hey hun how're you doing?" She asks him.
"I'm really good." He nods.
I walk around the counter, grabbing my dance bag and my cup of tea.
"I should get to class, again it was lovely to meet you." I say to Phil.
Tom snakes his arm around my waist, and pecks an unexpected kiss to my cheek. I can feel a blush rising, and I turn away in embarrassment.
"I'll see you tonight." He says, his eyes flicking between my eyes and my lips.
"See you." I smile, walking out of the shop to head to school.
•Harrison's pov•
Addie leaves the shop, and my mum looks over to Tom.
"You two are together?" She asks.
"Well.. not necessarily, we went on a date last night and were going out again tonight so.." he shrugs.
"You're going out again tonight?" I ask.
Why didn't she tell me she was going out with him again?
"Yeah" he nods.
He seems genuinely happy about it.. that's weird. Tom isn't the kind of guy to want to take a girl on dates, he wants to get them in bed and never see them again.
"Anyways, I have a date to freshen up for so I'm gunna head out." He says, grabbing a muffin out of the case. "See ya."
He leaves and my mum sighs, moving to stand behind the counter as I take someone's order, getting back to work.
"Are you okay?" She asks.
"What do you mean? I'm fine." I say.
"I saw the way you looked at her." She states.
I hand the coffee to the customer and turn back to her.
"Why does everyone think I'm looking at her in some way? I'm not. It's not like that." I say. "Besides, she doesn't even like Tom, and he doesn't even like her. It was a stupid bet that turned into a date."
"A boy that isn't into a girl doesn't feel so strongly about who she dates." She says. "Think about that."
She leaves with her tea, and I groan.
It's frustrating, not knowing what I feel. Yeah sure, she's attractive, she's funny, she's talented, she's great to sit and talk to or to just sit and watch a movie with.
She's great.
Charlotte shows up to take over my shift, and I go home.
I walk in, and go down the hallway, as I pass the bathroom I see Tom standing in the mirror shaving his face.
"Shaving the non existent?" I ask.
"Hey! I have some hair!" He groans, rinsing the shaving cream off his face.
"What are you putting effort in for mate?" I ask.
"What?" He says, turning his attention to me.
"She's not going to sleep with you, so why are you trying?" I ask.
He laughs, shaking his head at me.
"I'm not just trying to sleep with her." He says.
"I find that hard to believe, considering that's all you've ever wanted from girls." I mutter.
"What is this about?" He asks.
"It's about the fact that you don't even know her and you're changing who you are for her." I say.
"I do know her." He says.
"No you don't. She's never had sex, she's never kissed a guy, the date you took her on yesterday was her first date ever." I say. "You don't know her. I do, yet she still picks you."
A/N: and so the drama begins😈
