Jasmines POV

As I finish up the last of my paperwork, I took the time and realize I am late; If tiara were here, I would have never lost track of time. I put everything down and make my way to the conference room. As I walk down the hall, I get stares, and many of then turn and face the floor without hesitation the minute I make eye contact. It's my first day back, and I can't believe I'm falling behind schedule, I'm not sure I can run this business without Tiara. She always kept me on time and did everything right. Did I just do something stupid because I got emotional? Did I just put this business in a shitty situation? Ugh, I may have fucked up big time.

When I enter the conference room, everyone stands "Sorry I'm late, got held up with some paperwork. Now that I am back, how far are we when it comes to the gala?" I ask as I take my seat, and everyone follows.

They sit there in silence, staring at each other. Until a lady stands wearing a white blouse and black slacks and beings to say nervously, "we haven't started because you weren't here. The only thing we have is the list of students displaying there work and performing." After her statement, she looks at her fidgeting fingers.

"So you mean to tell me that you are grown adults who get paid to plan the gala every year cant do your jobs without an 18-year-old to tell you how to. If that is the case, I can just get a group of teens to do your job and pay them half the price." I state whit anger laced in every word. "Who is in charge this year?" I question. A man in a navy blue suit stands, "good, your fired, and you will never work ever again unless its flipping burgers. Now leave." I turn to the lady who spoke up the first time and made her the leader of the group. "Now that we fixed that, I need a theme, and budget in two hours. Then we will move from there." I stand and head to my next meeting. Finally, I'm back on track.

As I finish up my last meeting, my phone rings, and to my surprise, its the one person who I slowly wish I didn't get rid of, the girl who still owned my heart but broke it at the same time. It was the message from Tiara, "I know I hurt you, but I still love you, and I can always come back if you need help." I stare at the phone dumbfounded, I knew that I made the wrong call, but I can't allow someone who would allow that type of information out. It's wrong.

In the middle of my thoughts, my door opens. Removing me from my restless mind. When I lookup, The lady from the meeting is standing right in front of me. "Do you have my answers, if you don't you can remove yourself from my sight. I expect everyone to pull there own weight." I state. She stays silent and hands me a folder. I open it up, and everything I asked for was neatly planned and set up in order. "Well, I guess you guys got to work after I left." I turn to my computer and get back to the contract I was writing up. I look up again, and she is still standing there looking at me. "Can I help you?"

"Well, I just wanted to say, I am sorry that things weren't too your liking in today's meeting. I am glad you put me in charge because they would meet and just hang out and drink, never getting anything done. Well, I guess what I am trying to say is thank you for the opportunity." She says, without any confidence.

I look at her and see something in her. Something that may just entertain me.
