The sound of my alarm blaring is what woke me up like it did every school morning. I roll out of the bed before groggily heading towards my twin brother's room to wake him up as well. "Ash, wake up!" I say softly shaking him awake.
"Go away, I'm sleeping," He moans, pulling the covers over his eyes and I roll my eyes.
"Maybe if you didn't stay up on the phone all night you wouldn't be so tired," I told him sternly.
"At least I'm in a relationship I've never even been kissed." He sassed back still not moving from his spot. Ashton is my parent's favorite meaning he can do no wrong even when he came out to them as gay two years ago they supported it. Meanwhile, I got caught holding my friend Sasha's hand in 7th-grade and they had her sent to boarding school. I haven't heard from her since.
"Just get up or you're going to be late for school," I say one last time and walk to the bathroom to get ready. Approximately 30 minutes later I stepped out of the bathroom ready for school and skipped downstairs to see my parents and my brother already seated at the table for breakfast.
"How are your grades, Ashton tells me he has straight A's?" My mother asked as soon as I sat down. At least something about him is straight. I thought snarkily.
"They're great," I answered, taking a bite of my bacon accidentally biting my tongue. "Fuck!" I hissed quietly as I tasted the metallic but she still heard.
"Do not use those words in my home." My mother ordered in an unpleasant tone.
"Go easy on her darling it is the way kids speak these days." My father said taking up for me.
"Very well off to school you must go, I would hate for you to be late again." She said pointedly at me. Ashton stood up kissing my mother on the cheek before we both headed to his car and sped off to school.
"I'm sorry about mom." He says once we pulled at school I only shrugged my shoulders and grabbed my bag going to look for my best friend. Almost instantly I spotted her fiery red hair.
"Alissa, did you hear?" She asked me, jumping up and down in excitement.
"Hear what?" I was clearly confused.
"Mrs. James died last night." She squealed and I looked at her in horror.
"That's not a good thing Haley."
"Of course it's not but we got a new teacher. He's very young and he is smoking hot!" She says squealing yet again.
"New teacher?"
"Oh my god are you deaf, yes new teacher, god sometimes I feel like you don't listen to me, oh look there's Maddison I'm going to tell her." She says rushing off and I laugh at my best friend. She's as boy crazy as it gets. I quickly grabbed my English and maths books and headed to my first-period class. My phone chips and I look down only to collide with a hard chest, sadly this was not a cliche moment where the hot guy caught you, no I landed flat on my butt.
"Oww," I hissed, getting up and looking at the man I ran into who had already begun collecting my books, "I'm so sorry," I apologized.
"No hard feelings, are you alright." He asked as he handed over my books, just as I handed him his which look like teaching books.
"Yeah I'm fine, thank you," I said before turning to walk away.
"Wait," He said and I turned around and tilted my head, "You wouldn't know where English in room 228 is would you? I'm the new English teacher and I got lost."
"Of course you're my teacher this period follow me,"
"Thank you..." He said pausing for my name.
