Today was the day I would have to face Blake, Monday and I hadn't the slightest clue where we stood. I didn't know if it was just to get me out of his system or if he wanted something out of it and that scared me. I was awake before my alarm and out the door before Ashton was finished with his shower. I walked the entire way to school to blow off some of my nerves. Reaching school Haley hopped up to me.
"you're early you're never early what's wrong?" She asked and I stood there conflicted on what to do. She was my best friend. I could trust her. But what if I couldn't and I said something to get Blake fired I wasn't stupid I knew it probably meant nothing to him.
"Nothing, I just had to talk to the principal," I lied and she nodded her head.
"Ohh well I'm off to early morning cheer practice love you, Ali," She said hoping away. she was just a ball of happiness and pep.
"Alissa," I knew that voice and I wasn't prepared for it. I slowly turned around to see him studying my features.
"Mr. Griffin," I said curtly and I wished this interaction would end.
"We should talk." He said and I nodded my head following him to the empty case room, "About last night, I-" He starts and I cut him off.
"Blake it's fine, really. I know you regret it." I say putting on a brave face but my heart and my head knew I was hurt.
"Alissa.." He tried to say something but the classroom soon filled up with students and I took my seat and he sent me a longing look and I turned to look at my brother who was currently having some massive PDA with Dalton by the door.
"Daddy, why did you have to get detention?" Ash asked Dalton with a pout. Yep, my brother was submissive looking at him you would have never guessed it. Honestly, I wish I never figured it out, trust me, I'll never forget to knock again.
"It's just for the first half of the day baby."
"Okay Dalton get to detention," Blake said and they kissed one more time before Dalton left and Ashton sat by me.
"You guys are disgustingly cute," I commented and my brother rolled his eyes.
"Shut up," He said laughing and I smiled at him before focusing on the lesson, well trying but all I could focus on was the way Blake's mouth moved when he spoke and how his eyes would crinkle when a student asked a question mid-sentence.
"Okay, does anyone have any questions?" He asked looking around the class but no one raised their hand. "Okay well remember your report is due Monday. Oh and Ms. Calloway can you please stay back for a moment." He said just as the bell rang, the entire lass left except for me.
"Yes sir?" I asked him and he looked at me with sad eyes.
"About earlier," He said and I shook my head and he stopped.
"If this isn't school-related I would like to get to my next class," I said walking around him ignoring the sadness I felt. This was for him, this was the best for both of us. I walked to my history class and sat by Haley.
"Okay, class I have to get some papers from the printer. I'll be back, feel free to talk amongst yourself." Ms. Apricot says before walking out of the room.
"You're late," She said and I laughed.
"Don't tell my mom," I say but she senses my sadness and puts her hand on my shoulder.
"What's wrong?"
"Have you ever made a decision that you know is right but it feels so wrong?"
"Yes, everyone knows that doing the right thing isn't always the easiest thing to do," she says and I nod, "But the right thing for you may not be the right thing for everyone else. Do what feels right for you. Part of life is making mistakes."
