Songbird ( Ash Lynx x Reader )

{ Chapter 3: No Time }

     On the car ride to God-knows-where you held Skip closely in your lap. It was a tight squeeze with the three of you back there. You glanced at the men, seeing the fear and panic in their expressions. You didn't know what was going to happen. But you weren't going to let anyone die. The drive felt like it went on for hours but you eventually made it to your destination. You weren't sure where exactly you were, it wasn't the mansion like you thought. The men dragged you and the other three out of the car. They tied your arms behind your back. The ropes were tight and burned your skin with every movement. They beat the ever living crap out of the four of you. They tossed you in what appeared to be an large abandoned property. You protected Skip from most of the beatings, you wouldn't let anyone touch him. You had no problem taking his hits for him.

In that time Ash was also captured, he didn't have time to think his plan through before. There was no time to waste. They threw Ash in with the rest of his. He was pretty beaten up himself. Blood dripped down the side of his arm. Skip jumped from my arms and ran to Ash. "Ash! Are you okay!? You're bleeding!" Skip exclaimed. "Don't touch me.." Ash pushed Skip away gently. Eiji moved closer to the injured Lynx. "Here.. give me your arm.." Eiji didn't let Ash push him away. Eiji ripped a part of his shirt and tied up Ash's wound. Ash didn't say anything. He glanced over at you, you just sat there, deep in thought. You ignored the pain you were in as you tried to think of a way out. 

"Well well..." A familiar voice echoed as it got closer and closer. It was Marvin. He walked towards us. Arthur and a few other men followed. "Looks like we caught a Lynx and a little birdy." He smirked as he crouched in front of Ash. He glanced over at you for a moment but then focused most of his attention on Ash. He wasn't into your type. He liked boys. He was a dirty old piece of shit and you were quite aware of what he's done. Marvin reached out and held the side of Ash's face. "Don't lay a fucking finger on him you filthy bastard. I'll fucking kill you!" You shouted with rage in your voice and it showed in your eyes. This surprised Ash a little, the look on your face was completely different from your usual expression. "Why don't you go fuck someone your own age you fucking pedophile." You said with a growl.

Marvin didn't like that. The thing about Marvin is that he's aware he's a piece of shit. But he doesn't like being reminded. He'd rather just forget about all those sins he's committed. In a rage Marvin grabbed the front of your shirt and pulled you up to his angry face. "What? You don't like the truth, Marvin? Hurt's don't it." Marvin slammed his fist into your gut, it completely knocked the air out of you. You gasped in pain and crumbled to the ground. "Don't you speak to me like that you bitch!" He exclaimed. "Y/N!" Skip shouted as he ran to your side. Ash turned his attention away from you and tried to distract Marvin. "Marvin..." He mused in this fake, soft tone of voice. This wooed Marvin and softened his anger. Your vision was blurred and you couldn't really make out what the conversation that was going on between Marvin and Ash was about. It all happened in an instant when Ash gets the upper hand on Marvin, knocking him out cold.

At this time you regained full consciousness and got to your feet, using the wall as a support. You glance around for a way out and it appears to you almost like a miracle. It had to be too good to be true. "This way!" You exclaim as you lead the group down this narrow passage way. As you make it into the next room you realize you hit a dead end. The walls were too high to climb and going back now wasn't an option. "Shit.." You muttered under your breath. "I thought we were in the clear too!" Skip exclaimed with pure frustration. 

You watch as Eiji examines the area. He finds a rusted old pipe and then looks up at the wall. "What are you doing?" You questioned with confusion. He lifted up a rusted old pipe that was nearly twice his height. "I'm going to jump the wall.. and go get help." He exclaimed with confidence. "What? Are you insane? Thats too high you're gonna kill yourself." Ash shouted. You agreed with Ash but they weren't just going to sit there and do nothing. "I have to try!" Eiji shouted as he took a few large steps back from the wall. He came running towards it with the pipe in his hands. He slammed the pipe into the ground and flung himself gracefully over the wall. A loud crash followed. You waited to hear Eiji respond. Say something you idiot.. Eiji shouted. He ripped a piece of broken glass out of his arm and took off running. "I'm going to go get help! I'll be right back!"

A sense of relief flooded you hearing that Eiji was okay. But it could be too late by the time he finds any help.  Soon enough a battered Marvin followed by a group of men began surrounding them. "Where'd the Asian kid go?!" He asked with rage in his throat. Ash smirked "He flew right over the wall. Like a fuckin' bird." He laughed. Marvin slammed his fist into Ash's jaw causing him to hit the ground. You ran to his side and helped him up. "Don't lie to me, boy!" Marvin shouted. "Take Ash.. and the girl. Do what you want with the boy.." Marvin said plainly. "Get your hands off me...!" You shout but its too late, you and Ash are held with your arms behind your back. Another guy grabs Skip and starts dragging him away. "Skip!" Ash cries out.  You and Ash start to get dragged out towards a car. But before you even make it inside you suddenly you hear the sound of cop cars surrounding you. This caused the men holding both you to retreat slightly.  "Ash, Skip! Are you there!?" It was Shorter's voice. You hear shots behind fired close by. Marvin gets nervous and raises his gun at Ash. 

Somehow Skip manages to break free of the hold on him and he runs towards Ash. This was his biggest mistake. But he's only a kid. What does he know? Without much hesitation Marvin changes the direction of his aim and fires two shots at Skip, both shots hitting him right in the chest. Time seemed to slow down. Your eyes widened as you glanced at the still body of the boy on the ground. You can hear Ash crying out to Skip but he sounds so far away. You can hear your heart beating in your chest and your blood begins to boil. Marvin sees this look on your face and turns pale. Ash holds Skip's body in his arms, cradling him close to his chest. Tears fall from the Lynx's eyes. At this point police cars behind surrounding the area. 

Marvin and his men flee. You attempt to run after them, you wanted nothing more then to destroy that man but a hand on your shoulder stopped you. It was firm and familiar. It brought you back to reality though your rage and despair was still present. You turn your head, it was Shorter. "Hey--hey.." His voice was stern. "Don't do anything stupid.. we need time to regroup and--" Before he says anything else you walk away from him and approach Ash and Skip. Ash looks up at you with those pained eyes. You crouch down and take Skip into your arms. A few small tears begin rolling down your cheeks. "I'm sorry." You mutter to Ash and to Skip. Ash doesn't say anything and before he could make a move he was surrounded by cops. They handcuffed him and placed him in the back of a car. They sped off leaving you and the others behind.
