As Samantha locked eyes with the boy from across the party so realized that now that he knew she came, she couldn't leave, which is exactly what she wanted to do.

The boy smiled at her as he raised his hand to wave her over to where he stood. She gave him a small, nervous smile as she pushed herself off of the fallen tree and moved around the perimeter of the party closer to the boy she knew she recognized.

As she walked up to the boy, he handed her a red cup full of an unknown liquid. Samantha lifted the cup to her face to smell the drink. She winced at the smell and just decided to take a sip. She coughed a little in disgust as the new taste burned the back of her throat. The boy just chuckled and grabbed the cup back from her hands.

"Let's just get you some water to start with," he told her with a smile pulling at his lips. He held his hand out for her to take, and after a few seconds, she reluctantly slid her hand into his own. He smiled at the shy girl and pulled her to the other side of the mass of people.

Samantha looked around as she was being guided around. She saw a group of people just talking with solo cups in their hands. She saw a few couples playing tonsil tennis, which she quickly looked away from. She also saw the large mass of people dancing to the rather loud music, which she couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from.

As the boy holding her hand stopped, she looked around them. She noticed he stopped in front of a table with a stack of cups and bottles filled with assorted liquids. He reached to grab a bottle of water for her, which she gladly accepted. She opened the bottle and chugged almost half of it.

She pulled the bottle away from her lips and put the cap back on, wiping her mouth with her wrist. She looked back at the boy in front of her, looking at her with a fond smile.

"So... why do they call you John B? Why do they need the B? Is there another John I don't know about?" she asked, shouting a bit over the music. He chuckled at her and looked at his feet.

"Nope, I'm the only John. But I guess it's because-" before he could finish his sentence, someone tapped John B's shoulder to get his attention. He turned around to talk to whoever was behind him and Samantha could see it was a girl with long wavy hair.

As Samantha waited for John B to finish his conversation the girl noticed her standing there awkwardly.

"You're not going to introduce me?" The girl questioned John B with a laugh. He turned towards Samantha and nodded moving slightly out of the way so they could see each other a bit better.

With the new view Samantha has of the new person she could see that she was very thin and had beautiful tanned skin. She was wearing shorts and a bikini top along with an open button down shirt thrown over her shoulders.

"This is Samantha, the girl JJ and I were telling you guys about yesterday. She's new to the island," the boy gestured to Samantha. "Samantha, this is Kiara, one of my best friends," John introduced.

"Everyone calls me Kie," the girl said holding her hand out. Samantha immediately grabbed the girls hand and shook them for a few seconds.

"It's nice to meet you," Samantha spewed out the formal words she had been taught to say when meeting someone new.

"You too," Kie said back with a smile. "Here, I'll make you one of my favorite drinks," she offered with a smile. Samantha accepted the cup that smelled about a million times better than whatever John B had given her earlier.

Samantha watched Kie expertly concoct the beverage take a test sip before handing the cup to her. Samantha took the cup and went in for her first sip. It tasted very good and much better than her first sip from John B's cup. She took another small sip and smiled at Kie.
