Chapter 2?

Alex 

I was walking to the stage door when i saw Kerry at knee level with a big fluffy dog, staring into its eyes. She stood up and hugged someone and walked in my direction.While i was signing in, i gave her tight hug,"Whats happening Babs"Nothing much Bug man,ready for a new day,"she grinned. Kerry was such a ray of sunshine, all the time. Not the annoying kind but that everyone was drawn to her. After my makeup and costume were done, i still had an hour to kill so i decided to go annoy Leslie. I was about to peek into her room when a cotton ball leapt into my body followed by a wet nose sniffing my face. I cracked open my eyes and saw golden brown shining eyes staring back at me. I grinned,"who are you pretty lady?,"while scratching her chin. "Uh thats Poppy,Im so sorry, i hope she didnt hurt you,"said soft voice.Leslie helped me up as as i focused on the owner of the voice and dog."Uhhh....," my voice left me as i took in the pink tipped hair, the cocked head and concerned eyes.I felt Leslie elbow me,"Ah..a-im fine,might need to get my makeup fixed,"eyeing the tiny streaks on the dog's wet nose.She followed my eyes,"Oh bollocks,Poppy!,"she whispered to her dog as she wiped her nose with a sleeve." I really am sorry.....,"she trailed off,looking at Leslie for help since my mouth refused to move."Alex! This is alex, Alex, Natalie, my closest friend from London,"she said smirking.

Nat

I held Poppy's leash tightly as i gave Alex a small smile. There was something about his man that was so comforting that shone through his whole demonic makeup for the show. "Well im gonna go since i have 30 minutes till show time,"he said smiling at the two of us. He left, not before giving Poppy a little cuddle,"Ive never had a woman run me over like you before,"he said as he flicked his eyes at me before looking back at Poppy.I watched him walk away as Leslie came and stood next to me."I think youve just made coming to work way more fascinating than it already is,"she said giving me a side hug. I had taken my 30 minute break with Leslie during rehearsals, which were to say the least, intense. Being a swing was tough, not knowing what role you'd go on for.So far, i was rehearsing for Katherine Howard and i was maybe obsessed with the costume,mostly coz it matched my hair. I had been lucky that the Six company was very understanding i couldnt leave Poppy anywhere for the time being so she went with me to work everyday. I would leave her with Leslie or Kerry if they had a day off when I had work.

I blew my hair out of my face after I downed a bottle of water. My phone buzzed with a text from Kerry asking if i wanted to grab brunch with her and Leslie. I looked up my rehearsal schedule and thankfully i had enough time to grab a bite in between.

Alex

My phone buzzed with a text from Leslie asking me to brunch with her and Kerry before we went into work. "Kevinnnnn,youre coming with me today,"i sang to my dog as i dropped a kiss on his head.I clipped his leash and walked to the subway station.the brunch place was dog friendly so i didnt have to leave Kevin. I caught sight of a familiar white fluffy dog and clocked Kerry and Leslie waving at me. "Uh hey guys,"i said giving Leslie a strained grin.Natalie gave me a shy smile as she sat down. Poppy sniffed Kevin's ear and gave a start as Kevin nipped at her tail. I picked up Kevin and sat him in my lap." Im so sorry, Kevin has a hard time making new friends,he's a bit of a spoilt brat." Kerry reached for him,"Well except Kerry,she's the literal dog whisperer,"i said handing Kevin to her. I laughed as she made baby noises while my little one burrowed deeper into her. "Well Poppy seems to be a fan already," a soft voice said from across the table. I looked at Natalie and looked down. Her adorable dog was at my feet staring up at me with her big golden eyes. I bent down and scratched her chin, laughing as her tail wagged. I could feel Natalie watching us but didnt dare to make eye contact.Lunch was blur, it usually is when one is among good company. By the end of it, Kevin and Poppy had become fast friends.

Kerry and Leslie had some errands to run before the show so i walked with Natalie back to the theatre."So Hows rehearsals been going?,"i asked the pink hair woman."My body is on the verge of wrecked,"she said giggling,"but yoga has really been helping me out."I swallowed slightly as my eyes trailed down her form. Get a hold of yourself Brightman,dont creep her out.

Nat

Chatting with Alex all the way to the theatre had been enlightening. He was a really sweet,caring and extremely talented human being and Kevin, i think i have a new favourite individual after Poppy.....obviously.I was reaching the end of my Katherine Howard rehearsals so i would spend way more time with Leslie and Kerry. Since i was still getting to know my colleagues at Six, i didnt want to cross any boundaries yet but hanging around while i really didnt have much to do, didnt make sense.I also, slowly was developing a mini crush on Alex, Poppy outright loved that man. There had been many times she would pull free of her leash and run off when i would enter the theatre. I would eventually find her in Alex's room, cuddled with the man on his sofa. I feel like Leslie and Kerry had caught on because i was super transparenta around them but a stone around Alex,well i tried.

I was meditating in Millie's room, the girl who played Katherine Howard when Holly came rushing in. "Nat, Millie's caught a real bad sniffle that's clogged her nose so youre one today!,"she trilled.Oh bollocks, i was excited but the nerves came rushing in. " John will come in and start on your makeup so till then slip into your costume,"she smiled as she left. I took a couple of deep breaths as i slowly changed. While John worked on my makeup, i texted a very unlikely person.I need some advice.i typed hitting send. A couple seconds later my phone buzzed.Well,well, how can the Bman be of service today?I smiled as the nerves slightly dissipated. I made the right decision.I have my first show in two hours,help!Millie's got the sniffles.By the time his text came, i was all done and was sitting with Poppy on the sofa.Break a leg and ill be right there to cheer you on my lady!concentrate on showing the audience the bad assery of K Howard. I let out a mix of a laugh and a mini sob as i hugged Poppy.I let out a deep breath as the tightness left my chest and my heart swelled a bit more.
