When Callie got home she was so tired that she immediately wanted to go and take a shower, but instead, for the first time or maybe second she went straight into her room and stood in-front of the mirror. Mainly she never really cared how she looked, where her hair were going or if these clothes are good for jogging or not but this time she examined herself  self-concisely. She didn’t know why but she wanted that she must’ve looked presentable in front of Steven. She looked at her face; she was blushing, just his name made her red. Then she looked at her hair. Okay-okay a little messy. Of course they had to be messy after a long jog, Right? Or were they like this when she went out? Then she took a good look at her overall. It was good or maybe better. Now she was happy and could go and take a nice quick shower.

She opened her wardrobe and picked out a nice plain tee and an old pair of jeans. If she wished she could stay in pajamas. It’s like come on, Harry is nowhere to be arriving soon. She opened all her hair and went straight into the bathroom. Once inside she heard her phone ring 2-3 times and then it went into voice mail, she couldn’t hear what the message was but had a pretty good idea that it was from Tasha, She was hoping to hear from her after she stalked her phone to death by sending in 20 voice mails last night.

Callie came out after having a nice 15 minutes refreshment , her hair were dripping with warm water and she was making the carpet smudgy, but right now she didn’t care. She ran to the phone and click on play.

The voice that came from it was Harry’s.

“Um, hey Callie, I wanted to talk to you face to face but I see that is not possible now. I just wanted to inform you that I’m sorry but I won’t be able to make it, to go out shopping with you.” When Callie heard that, she stood where she was, she was shocked. She was really looking forward to this day. She felt a little hurt inside but still went to listening.

“You see we have this really important meeting with some merchandise company, and the management wants all of the boys to be there,” Harry continued on the tape. “I was really looking forward on meeting you after I came to your house yesterday but,” His voice broke off. “Um, I’m just sorry. I hope you understand, Okay,” Just as he was speaking, she heard Liam’s voice in the background asking him to hurry up. “Oh and I gotta go now, um and yeah I’ll… I mean we can go on shopping tomorrow if you want, you know, I think this meeting will not be much of a problem then for us. Okay so how does 6pm sounds to you. Tomorrow? Okay so let me know please. I promise I won’t bail on you tomorrow. Um, just…just call me okay? I’m sorry again.” And then there was a long beep.

“I was so looking forward to it.” She shouted angrily. What is wrong with everyone? Was Harry really busy or was this one of his excuses? She didn’t know. She felt like she didn’t know Harry at all now.

Callie stood there in the hall-way with her hair dripping water on the carpet, looking all stupid. She couldn’t make out what just happened. Did Harry just stood up on me? She thought. She felt bad and betrayed. First Tasha now Harry. To her it felt like Harry was giving all these mixed signals to her. Like at the party that day. He held her hand and they talked so intensely and flirtingly. And then just yesterday what was all that about? He kissed her hand. That counts for something, doesn’t it? And now he is bailing on her? Was her luck really not with her today?

Except meeting Steven, nothing good has happened today that could make her change her mind. She went into her room and sat to the bed, thinking. She looked around the room hoping to find something to cheer her up. At the right corner of her room was a book shelf. She always loved books, Nicholas Sparks, Sarah Dessen, Stephanie Meyer and many more dead-romantic authors sat on the shelf. Along with that on the night-table was her and Tasha’s photo. She loved her so much. They were friends from fourth grade. Callie remembered exactly how they met.

She had just moved into Rosewood and was really nervous for her first day to school. She went into her class room and sat on the corner bench. A few kids settled in after her but none came near. They were all talking to each other, laughing, enjoying themselves. She saw from the corner of her eye a group of three girls, giggling and making fun of all the other students. A few boys came in looking like studs. Then a girl of chocolate brown hair, sweet shaped face came in and looked for a seat. She looked as confused as Callie herself. The homeroom teacher asked her to sit with Callie. They sat together and talked and talked, she got to know her name was Tasha, she was also new in this school. They immediately hitted it off, and from that day onwards they are best friends.

Callie was feeling alone and lonely. She felt like there was no one in the world who can talk to her right now. She felt depressed too.

Callie was so confused what to do with rest if the day. She thought cleaning up her house would be a nice idea. It’s not like she wanted to grab the phone and call Harry and ask him to leave all his meetings and met her right now. No-No.

Callie stood up and got a wiping cloth from her kitchen and started cleaning the slap then the stove and finally as she was cleaning the kitchen window, she was two figures standing in the neighbour’s front yard. She had been hearing the news that new neighbours were coming to stay but hadn’t seen any. She stopped cleaning for a minute and closely examined the figures. Both of them looked familiar. One was a boy the other a girl.

She looked more closely and recognised Tasha. Tasha was moving in? She thought. Then she looked at the boy and all her questions were answered. Her Best friend Tasha Jenner was talking to her new Hot neighbour Steven McCartney.
