I stopped putting the groceries in the trunk when I heard a voice behind me. And I was positive that it belonged to the person that I was thinking of ever since.
Dahan dahan akong umikot patalikod. I was expecting raging eyes to look at me, but I didn't think that it would pain me more to see no sign of emotion in his eyes instead.
It feels as if we never loved each other before.
"Why did you even return." malamig na sabi niya.
After everything I did for him.
For us.
"Ja-"
"You should never have came back."
And he walked away...
As if I was not hurt and drowned aswell by the waves of sadness and guilt that was made by my own decisions in order to keep his family safe...
