Space kid x Reader

In this story you call Space kid by his real name, well whenever you remember too, with everyone calling him Space kid, it kinda messes with your head. Also warning sad Space kid moments are in this so, sorry.

(Y/N POV)

I leaned my head against the window of the run down bus, this would be my second year at Camp Campbell. Last year at the end of the summer Neil- or as everyone else calls him, Space kid, gave me a letter and told me not to open it till I got home, when I opened it it was a love letter telling me how he felt, he clearly didn't realize what he was explaining was a crush. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to just kiss him or hold him or something, and before I realized it, I had a crush on him.

The bus came too a stop as it pulled into the run down camp, I was with a couple other kids who missed the first bus, Nikki, Ered, Preston, Scotty and some kid named Joseph. I could see David standing at the entrance with Max and some other kid. I picked up my bag and stepped off the bus, the other kid tackled me to the ground  "Y/N! I was worried you wouldn't come back this year", wait Neil? Space kid didn't have his helmet or space suit anymore, he had the Camp Campbell t-shirt and a sweater with a punch of patches ironed on, even though he looked different I could tell he was the same Space nerd I-for some reason-liked.

"Spa- I mean Neil, its so great to see you again!", I pulled him in for a hug, he hugged me back even tighter. God, I wish this could last forever. When he finally pulled away I yearned for his embrace, something about him was just so warm and caring, I never want to leave him again. "I hope you don't mind, but I already asked David if we could share a tent", I gave him a smile, "I'm glad you did, lets go put my bags away so we can catch up", Space kid got off of me and we headed over to the tents. After I put away my stuff we headed to a spot in the woods where we would go to whenever we wanted to get out of activities, talking about school and what life without Camp Campbell was like. The spot was a flower field, deep in the forest, it was by a waterfall, and it had a huge tree you could climb and sit on. "Wow, ya'know I really missed this back home", I sat down by beside Space Kid, "Not just the spot, but hanging with you too, I feel like I can always talk to you", I started picking flowers to make a flower crown, David taught us how to make them last year. "Wait, y-you missed me?", I could see a slight blush dust his checks out of the corner of my eye.

"Of course, why wouldn't I?"

"I-I don't know, I guess I'm just not really the person you would want to see again", I stopped binding the flowers together and looked over at him. "Why wouldn't I want to see you again, your always so nice to me, your fun to be around, and something about you just makes me want to hold you", I could see his eyes starting to tear up. "I-I always thought I was a-annoying you", I pulled him in for a hug. "You could never annoy me Neil, I love being around you!", my eyes started tearing up as well. "R-really?", I pulled away so I was looking into his rich, brown eyes. "Of course, would I ever lie to you", he gave me a weak smile, "I guess not". I kissed his forehead without thinking, both of our faces flashed a deep red "OMG, IM SO SORRY I-I WASNT THINKING AND-", Space kid cut me off before I could finish, "I-its ok, really.... does this mean y-you like me back", I scratched the back of my neck. "Heh, I g-guess so.... does this make us... a-a thing?", Space Kid started picking at the ground beside him, "I mean, I-if you want", I pecked his cheek, "Id like that".

Bonus
                  *two weeks later*

Space kid layed his head in my lap and I ran my fingers through his soft, brown hair "How long till the other Campers find out about us?", I said in a low voice. We were siting behind a tree only a few meter away from the camp. "Id give it another day for Nikki to get suspicious and investigates", I giggled a little at his response. He curled up into a ball "I'm really glad you liked me back", I rested my head against the tree. "Me too Neil". I smiled as I realized I had just found the most perfect person in the entire world.
