He wonders faintly if she'd always been like this or if it was perhaps the overlapping experiences of her less than happy life that led her astray. Not that any of that mattered either way, he was curious, was all. There were many times when he questioned her sanity, or lack there of, and her 'needs' as she called them. He even went as far as digging up all he could find about her lineage and personal family history, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing that had been documented, anyway. Every now and then, however, she'd let something slip, a hint from her not quite forgotten past.

"Aww, you done already? And I was just getting warmed up, too..."

She was pouting and very clearly disappointed with her opponents' lack of skill as she watched their bodies turned to ash with glassy eyes. The twirling of her Fire Batons came to a sudden hault and she proceeded to pray for her victims. He was positive she wasn't praying to the Sun God, she had said many times how she was never one to "believe in fairy tales", but then that begged the question: Just who, or what, was she paying tribute to?

"I'm sorry..."

Her voice was so small he almost missed it, but it was definitely there. One moment she was commiting murder, practically dancing on their pre-dug graves, and in the next she was apologizing for having done it at all. He could only blink in equal parts amusement and confusion as she stood up straight and turned to face him.

"Where to?" she tilted her head up to look at him and he took a moment to scan over her almost placid expression before responding.

"...Asakusa," he grinned ,"Devil Foot should be there any day now." he explained, gesturing for her to take the lead.

"Hmm, that Shinra kid, huh? Sounds fun!"

He eyed her for another few moments before chuckling dryly. Ultimately, he'd decided he was just grateful he had a companion for once. And he was especially thankful that someone so powerful yet so unhinged was on his side.

This (Name) was something else.
