- Third POV -

After returning home, the Black Eagles House were asked to take a days rest to get themselves checked over and recover from their injuries. This is because the students' health is the utmost priority.

Unfortunately, that doesn't include two individuals. (Y/N) and Byleth were called to report to Archbishop Rhea immediately upon return and that the rest of the house were to come in tomorrow.

As the two stand in front of Rhea and Seteth, she calmly takes a step towards (Y/N) and gently lifts his hands in hers. She stares at the scars and dried blood hoping that all of his injuries were minor.

Rhea: "Are you hurt (Y/N)?"

(Y/N): "No, but thank you for asking. How are you by the way?"

Rhea: "I'm feeling like I've been blessed by the Gods because it seems like you've returned almost unarmed. They must've been smiling upon you."

She lets go of (Y/N)'s hands and turns to Byleth who was emotionless as always. She takes a step towards her and notices something small yet heartwarming because one could say that she might've been smiling if you count the small curve in her lips.

This makes Rhea's smile widen more. She rests her hand on Byleth's shoulder and whispers into her ear.

Rhea: "Thank you for bringing (Y/N) back."

She nods in response. Seteth being Seteth, fakes a cough to get everyone's attention which he does. He stands up straight and puts his arms behind his back.

Seteth: "Lady Rhea, before we forget, can we please begin with the report of the mission? That was the whole point in calling them here correct?"

Rhea: "Ah yes. Thank you Seteth for reminding me." She faces the two guests again before continuing. "As Seteth said, we called you here so you can report what has happened during your time away. Treat this as any other report."

Byleth: "Nothing we couldn't handle. We were able to capture some of the bandits but majority of them were slain as they had no intention of leaving the village nor us alone."

Rhea: "That's unfortunate but necessary. The ill will of others is a shame. Is that all?"

Byleth: "Yes it is."

Rhea: "Alright then. May I have a word with (Y/N) alone please? That includes you too Seteth."

Seteth: "Alright Lady Rhea. You can call me whenever you need me."

Byleth just nods to Rhea's request and leaves with Seteth in tow.

- (Y/N)'s POV -

I gulp wondering what Rhea is going to do with me knowing what happened last time we were together alone.

Before she said anything, she just hugs me.

Me: "Lady Rhea?"

Rhea: "(Y/N). I hope that you will take back your previous remarks and stay at Garreg Mach. You're a talented student and I want you to perhaps work for the knights after you graduate. We can't afford to lose such a promising student."

Me: "I- I was going to say that I apologize for saying that I am leaving the academy for my personal quest for vengeance. So I'm sorry. I take back what I said."

Rhea: "Good." She lets go of me and fixes her clothes. "Before you leave, I welcome you back to Garreg Mach. I hope you continue to see this place as a place you can call home."

Me: "Thank you."

Later...

I place my gear back on my weapon rack. Looking around my room, I saw that I already unpacked the little things that I have back in their original spots.

Tired, I jump into my bed ready for a good nights rest. Haven't had one in a few days so this would definitely make me feel 300% better in the morning.

As I close my eyes, I hear a knock on my door. I groan and get out of my bed to open it. As I do, I suddenly get pushed into my room by the visitor who turned out to be Edelgard. She closes the door quickly but quietly before looking at me.

Edelgard: "Sorry, I didn't want Hubert to know that I left my room when I'm supposed to be resting."

I laugh because that's definitely true.

Me: "It's fine but what are you doing here instead of resting?"

Edelgard: "Well when you told me about your past, I wanted to tell you a bit of mine. It didn't feel right knowing yours without you knowing mine."

Me: "Really? I didn't know that you felt that you needed to tell me about yours. In that case, you don't need to if you don't want to."

She shakes her head no and sits down on my bed. I take the spot next to her as she looks down at her legs.

Edelgard: "No I want to. It's only right and I feel like you should know since you're my partner."

Me: "Alright go ahead then."

Edelgard: "Well lets start of with the basics. You already know that I am the heir to the Adrestian Empire and all of that."

Me: "Yeah I already know that."

Edelgard: "Well I guess some things that you might find amusing is that Dimitri is my step-brother and that I taught him how to dance when we were younger."

Me: "Okay that was a bomb that was casually dropped. You and Dimitri are step-siblings AND you know how to dance? You got to teach me sometime."

Edelgard: "Well why not now?"

My face warms up and I notice Edelgard's face turning red by the second.

Me: "Yeah sure why not?"

We stand up and I put my hand on her waist as she puts hers on my shoulder. Our other hands held each other's above our shoulders as we swayed side to side.

Edelgard: "This is the basics of dancing so just follow my lead."

I follow her the best as I can and we didn't fumble at all. At one point it became natural and we continued our conversation.

Me: "So about the step-sibling thing, how did that happen if I may ask?"

Edelgard: "...well my mother is Dimitri's step-mother. So we aren't related by blood but just through family."

Me: "Ohhh that makes sense. You two look nothing alike. Anything else you want to say?"

Edelgard: "Well... do you know about my family at all?"

Me: "No not exactly. Just what everyone should know."

Edelgard: "Well I'm the ninth child in my family. You're probably wondering how I'm the next heir to the empire." I nod in agreement. "I was imprisoned underground, experimented on with my siblings. The objective was to endow our bodies with the power of a Major Crest. I already of the Power of Seiros, inherited through the Hresvelg Bloodline.. but that's a minor crest. My siblings on the other hand didn't possess a crest. During the experiments, many lives were lost, innocents and my siblings."

Me: "Edelgard... I'm so sorry."

Edelgard: "Don't apologize. You had nothing to do with it and this past of mine has given me the strength to continue my life. Anyways, before I continue, you have to swear you won't say anything about what I'm about to tell you."

Me: "I won't tell anyone. You can trust me."

She smiles at my comment.

Edelgard: "I have two crests. The Power of Seiros as you know, and the Power of Flames. And when the crest manifested, I swore a silent oath to become an emperor that can change the world so such meaningless sacrifices don't need to be made..." She removes her hand from my that was on my shoulder and onto my cheek. "And I wish for you to be there."

Me: "After your big reveal on your past, how can I refuse?"

We stop dancing and I brought her into a hug.
