As a teenager, I always like to play football and participate in games. This inter school game was no different. We got ready to get onto the field to win our third championship. Our rival was no doubt a strong and fierce one.
BEEP and the match officially started. The first few minutes were still kind of a warm up but the next few was when the competition really started. Everyone was trying to score a goal.
After the first half , the score was 3-4 we were leading by one point but we knew we couldn't let our guards down. We got ready and hydrated ourselves for the second half. I managed to get the ball from the other team and was about to make the pass when I felt a sharp pain on my right shin. Turns out, my opponent kicked me on accident when trying to get the ball from me. Due to the immense pain, i collapsed onto the field holding my right shin. The referee immediately blew the whistle to stop the game. The paramedics immediately came to help me and transferred me onto a stretcher. They helped by spraying some anesthetic solution to help numb my leg and transferred me into the ambulance to the hospital.
When they reached , they immediately whisked me into the ER and took an x-ray of my leg to see what was wrong. After taking the x-ray, they started an IV to give me some pain medication. Not long after t he nurse took my vital signs, a doctor came in.
"Hello y/n I'm doctor Jimin. We have taken a look at your x-ray results and sadly it is fractured but don't worry it is just a hairline fracture. All we need to do is place a cast for 6 weeks. Till then, no soccer alright?"
No soccer means i cannot compete in the game for the entire season. As much as i want to compete in the games, recovery and health comes first. No choice i nodded my head.
He gently straightened my leg on a cold board before wrapping it with a bandage that is tight enough to keep it in place but not to hurt me.
"y/n is this comfortable for you or is it too tight?"
"It feels just fine."
" That's great. y/n what colour would you like your cast to be?"
Doctor Jimin showed me the different colours that i could have. But in the end ,I still opted for an orange coloured cast. He then took the orange colour bandage and wrapped it on the previous layer. It felt tight but not to the extent that it hurt me.
"y/n since you cannot put any pressure on your right leg for a while, you'll need to learn how to use crutches to help you walk."
Doctor Jimin was really patient when teaching me how to use the crutches. He was there to catch me in case i fell or felt weak. After awhile, I got used to using it and needed no further help.
After a few more checks, and doctor jimin gave me the green ligh to be discharged, my parents came to fetch me and i slowly made my way out. Getting home, i just focused on resting and helping my leg to heal properly.
THE best thing was my team won the inter school game and has won the championship
