I rolled out of bed today feeling very blah , felt lifeless as there was no energy at all in me today. Usually I'd be all ready to get out of bed for the day but today was just the complete opposite. I wrapped myself in my blanket and headed downstairs to greet my boyfriend, Nic who was getting breakfast ready.
"Good.. woah darling are you alright? You look so pale today. Cm'here baby." I dragged myself into his open arms as I laid my head onto his chest in need of some comfort. He gently placed his hand onto my forehead.
"You are definitely very warm today, love." He said as he gently sweeped me onto my feet and laid me onto the sofa. Also not forgetting to mention that he is a family physician in the hospital and I hate it when he goes into doctor mode. Today was no exception.
"How are you feeling love?" He asked as he rubbed my tummy.
"Very blah , not great." I said as I let a few tears fall. Nic reached to the table and grabbed some tissues and dried my falling tears.
"Ohh, I'm sorry you're feeling like that. Let me have a little check on you alright?" I nodded my head since I knew I could not reject it. Nic gently carried me back into the room and laid me onto the bed before getting his doctor's bag.
"Baby we're going to start alright? If you dont feel comfortable at any point please tell me okay." I nodded my head in agreement.
"I'm just going to have a quick listen to your heart and lungs love , its not going to hurt." I shivered from the cold contact of his stethoscope which made him giggle.
"Just breathe normally for me love, just like this. Very good." He said as he gently moved the bell across my chest before removing it.
"Everything sounds good. Now im just going to take your temperature real quick." He said as he gently rolled the thermometer across my forehead and waited for the beep.
"39.5 celsius. Thats a very high temperature love. Alright darling last thing okay, Im just going to feel around your neck and I want you to tell me if anything hurts okay just real quick." I nodded as he gently checked and palpated on my neck area.
"Hmm your neck feels a little swollen. Do you feel any discomfort love? I need you to be honest with me okay." I shook my head , signaling that there wasn't any discomfort.
"Okay love thank you for being honest with me." After he kept away his things , he got some Tylenol for me to take before joining me in bed , gently carrying me into his arms.
"Im just going to monitor your temperature for now alright? If it doesnt get better we will have to do something else alright? For now have a good rest love , you did good." I laid my head onto his chest , listening to his steady heartbeats. In awhile , I fell asleep in his arms.
