"I TOTALLY MISSED WASHING MY  hair to make it in time for this?" Manny complained as her and Baby stretched in the gym for practice

The whole spirit squad was gathered in the gym, awaiting the arrival of Paige so they could begin working on their routines.

She'd been late to every single practice the squad has had this week. Manny spilt the beans and told Baby it was about her new relationship with Matt, the new teacher.

"Paige skips practice, again. With all the work you put in, you should really be captain, Manny." Baby suggested, following Manny to where the rest of the team sat

"That's basically impossible. There's no way Paige would give me that title. She loves it too much." Manny disagreed

"Got me there." The Roberts girl nodded in agreement

"Guys, let's go with a 3-4-3 start. Ready for a right herkie jump. Let's go." Manny called, getting the team's attention

Hazel let the rest of the team get in position, before approaching where Manny and Baby stood, "Just so you know, I am not cool with you taking over."

"Paige won't care, she's too wrapped up in Matt to even notice." Manny said

"It's a crush. No big thing." Hazel shrugged

"You don't have to lie. Paige told me about her hot after-school affair." Manny confessed

Hazel change in facial expression made it obvious she wasn't let in on Paige's little secret, making it awkward for the other two girls

After practice ended, Baby made my way to Media Immersion where Emma saved her spot besides her. "Hey, got any gum?" Baby asked her, grabbing the open seat

"Uh, sure. Why?" Emma questioned, digging through her bag and handing the girl a stick of gum

"Didn't have the time to brush my teeth this morning." Baby half-lied, earning a laugh from her. It was true she hadn't had a lot of time this morning, considering she drank away her sorrows the night before and overslept.

Of course, the effects of that are a massive hangover and not the best smelling breath.
Their conversation was interpreted by Matt beginning class, and asking for volunteers to answer questions about a cigarette ad.

Emma raised her hand, and was tossed the pointer, "Okay. Well, I think it's aimed at a female demographic. And I think the tobacco companies are trying to tell us that healthy women can smoke because she's hiking or whatever."

"Good. Now in terms of subtler messaging, like where is she?" Matt asked

"I'm less sure." Emma responded

"Probably to the ravine." Chris spoke up, earning a chorus of murmuring from the class

"Watch it." Baby snapped at the boy, not liking the way her friend was being treated
