^^Jordan Baker^^
Jesse's POV:
Jackson, Jordan, JJ, and Karson made conversation I wasn't listening to as I sat and looked out the window to the practice I should be in. The LAX boys practiced during A and B lunch. 5th period held all the lunches which meant it was the longest period of the day. But with that, it was also the hottest time of day. Practice was hell, but damn, did I miss it. If I hadn't gotten hurt I'd still be out there. Scoring goals, sweating my balls off, giving the team a run for their money. I didn't notice how mad I was getting until I slammed my fist on the table and stood up. Everyone looked at me but I didn't care. I pulled my backpack onto my back and shoved my hands into the pockets of my letterman jacket. I walked away from the table and stormed up the stairs into the bathroom in the biology hallway. I shoved my backpack on the floor and grabbed the sides of the sink, my knuckles turning white. I ran my hands through my hair and started pacing back and forth. I stood in front of the fourth stall door and punched it with fury.
"DAMNIT!" I yelled as the stall door swung and hit the other stall, then slammed back, making a loud bang.
"Someone's upset," I heard a familiar voice. Rio. Rio Kook, younger brother of my best friend Karson. Also, the boy who took my spot as team captain and number one LAX player at Lewis High.
"Shut up, Rio." I spat at him and looked back up at the mirror and ran my hand through my hair. He came up behind me and slapped his hand down on my shoulder.
"Aw, c'mon buddy. You're a better fighter than you are lacrosse player anyways," he said egging me on. Rio was that one kid that no one can stand unless you were psychotic. You either loved or hated Rio. There is no in-between. Most people loved him, I never understood why. Maybe he was just an asshat to me. But needless to say, I was tired of his shit and too pissed to take this. So, I swiftly grabbed him by the collar and shoved him up against the wall. There was a hint of fear in his eyes but he kept his cool. Little bitch, I thought to myself.
"Shut the hell up you little bastard," I spat in his face. I pointed my finger at him with my free hand. "You have no fucking idea what you're talking about!" By now, I was shoving my elbow into his lower abdomen. He started to squirm out of my hold. "I was the best-" He managed to get me off him and shoved me back, cutting me off.
"That's exactly it, Baker. 'Was' as in, 'not anymore.' Accept the fact that you just aren't good enough and was replaced by someone who actually deserves the title of LAX captain." Rio shoved me again and just as I was about to throw a punch, the door opens and Karson walks in. My eyes immediately made contact with his. I knew he already knew what had happened. Karson walked further into the bathroom and pointed at me.
"You. Don't hit my brother," then he pointed to Rio. "You. Don't be a little shit sack and give him a reason to hit you." I smirked at this. He knew us so well. And now was when Rio would try to defend himself.
"But! Karson, I didn't even do any-"
"Shut the fuck up and go downstairs. 'C' lunch just started," he pointed to the door.
"But-"
"Just go!"
"Whatever," Rio picked up his bag and headed for the door.
"Hope the door hits you one the way out!' I shouted. Rio threw me the bird and I laughed. "Oh, I'm sorry. Is that not the saying? I'm not from here, I wouldn't know," I said in a shitty British accent. The door closed and I chuckled, very amused with myself. Karson and I looked at each other and laughed.
"You're an asshole, you know that?" Karson asked as he handed me my backpack and put his own on. We walked to the door.
"I wear my title proud," I laughed.
"Go to class, dumbass," he shoved me and we walked out separate ways.
