The Ranch Hand

Chapter 6

We rode all the way down the green path we that day decided to call "Flower lane", because the flowers were constantly blooming and swaying side to side even on these hot summer days. We rode close side to side talking and laughing.
"I want to show you something", Kaleb said as he turned down a little path I had never noticed before. I followed him down the path which turned out to be about a half a mile long, to find a big pond that had a little water fall leading threw from a stream. He hopped off Dasha and I did the same off Dixie. We walked over to some rocks that we climbed to get onto a cliff.
"Why are we up here", I asked curiously? Not long after that I realized Kaleb was pulling a rope out from the trees that had been hidden. I watched as he took off his shirt exposing his gorgeous abs, he ran we the rope and swung off the cliff letting go and dropping what seemed like 70 feet landing into the pond and laughing. It wasn't long after I felt my waist being grabbed and pulled into the air swinging over the pond then dropping into the water with Kaleb. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to die. I ran up the cliff again and jumped onto the rope once again flying threw they air and dropping, I met Kaleb in the water as we swam together splashing and laughing. We took a break from swimming and decided to go sit up on the grassy hill while the horses ate.
"So where are you from", Kaleb asked as his eyes dug into mine.
"California", I answered staring back at him.
"Do you know some one by any chance named Jack lilmert", he asked. I froze for a second.
"What school", I asked nervously.
"I think someplace called Livmery high" he said unsure. I stopped and just sat there. he was my old boyfriend that lasted about 4 months before I found out he had been cheating on me with 2 other girls.
"Yea I know him to well", I said looking down letting out a little giggle.
"I used to be best friends with him but he's a bastard, he cheated on 3 girls and one of them he had been seeing for 4 months, after I found that out I was done with his friend ship, girls are not toys to break", Kaleb said. his words stunned me, I was that girl, but that wasn't even it the way he talked about girls was adorable.
"Umm actually I was that girl he dates for 4 months", I said embarrassed. He sat there and looked at me in shock of what had just come out of my mouth.
"I'm so sorry If I would have known I wouldn't have said anything", Kalev said sorrowful.
"No no it's ok I hate that dirtbag", I said laughing. We decided to ride home so we hopped on our horses and walked home side by side still soaking wet from our pond day.

When we arrived home it was about 4:00pm I decided to go clean Dixies stall then head into the house and Kaleb did the same, he cleaned Dasha's stall and a few others then headed inside. when we walked into the house my grandparents had already set the table for dinner, they looked at us and did a double take.
"Why are you two soaked", my grandma chuckled in curiousity.
"I showed Laeny the pond today", Kaleb answered starring at me with those beautiful bright blue eyes.
"That explains it then", my grandma said laughing, "you two go get cleaned up for dinner then". I ran upstairs and Kaleb went down stairs into the basement which he had turned into his room. I got in the shower for a little bit to get the lake water off me the I put I some grey baggy sweatpants and a tank top. I threw my hair into a messy braid to dry then headed down stairs.

Kaleb POV

I ran down stairs to hop in my little shower we built last summer when I started working here, when I got out I put on some basketball shorts and a tank top and headed upstairs. When I got upstairs Laeny was already there. Damn she looks even more hot in her pajama's. I flipped my brown floppy hair and walked over to the table. we exchanged glances and then smiled at each other then taking our seats. damn I was falling for her.

Back to Laeny,s POV

Kaleb was even more cute in his pajamas. we began to eat the tritip that my grandpa roasted and marinated. the dinner was quiet with only a few words because we were all so tired. after I finished Kaleb said goodnight and went to bed along with Granps while me and Grandma did the dishes.my grandma began to speak.
"You like that boy don't you", my grandma said flashing me a smile. I just sat there and blushed smiling back.
"I'm going to bed", I said running up the stairs laughing.
"Don't deny it you like him my Grandma yelled. I just laughed and went to bed. I can't wait for tomorrow.
