The wind was warm, comforting. Then it entered my mouth, taking control of my brain.

"Azrael! Come forth." I bellowed in a voice unlike mine. My voice thundered in the room. I was in a sort of haze. My father stepped out of nothing, immediately dragging his angry gaze to meet mine. I was in the back seat, of my mind, without control. My dad was clearly pissed at me and was going to punish me for disobeying him and creating a huge mess at the same time. There was nothing I could do except watch in fear.

But then, the strangest thing happened. My own gaze became steely. My dad's eyes narrowed as he watched me curiously. I paid him no mind, tilting my head to the sky and bellowing again. "Michael, come forth!"

'No! What are you doing. This isn't part of the plan! It's disrespectful. You've never even met Michael.' I thought, but whatever possessed me then didn't care. They didn't even look but I could feel my dad's glare burning holes into me.

A whoosh. Something hit the ground and its impact moved the floor beneath my feet, yet I remained standing, staring ahead. A bright light appeared through the door and then I could see an angelic form.

'Dear God, he came! I'm so toast.' I thought. God either didn't seem to share my concerns or he found the whole thing unimportant because he said nothing.
I could barely see the Archangel Michael, he was shrouded in light that blinded me. I could only guess he was as beautiful as my father as they were brothers. His eyes raked my face for a moment, but he said nothing.

He seemed to nod at me in recognition and moved to stand to the left of my father who stood on my left. Recognition? The archangel nodded at my father in greeting.

"Azrael." He said as though that was a hello. His voice was scary.

"Michael" My father replied. I felt the urge to roll my eyes. Angels.

Apparently whatever possessed my body wasn't finished. I looked skyward again and bellowed. "Gabriel, come forth!"

I was just asking for it today, wasn't I? It wasn't enough to summon one angel, or two... But three? Like I'm superior? I must have looked insane.

Why did this person think they could decide to order the angels around whenever they wanted. I felt comforting warmth in the back of my mind.

It was foreign. Probably whatever had possessed me.

"Lo, I am with you always." It whispered. I gasped mentally. Impossible!

Another whoosh, a mini earthquake, then another figure shrouded in light caught my attention. Angel Gabriel. His light too blinded me.

"Jadiel." He seemed to nod at me too before turning to stand off to Michael's left.

"Azrael." He nodded to my dad.

"Gabriel." Dad replied. Again, I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

Then they turned their attention to me. 'Me? What did I do?' I thought, then remembered. Someone summoned them whilst in my body. I practically hid somewhere mentally, groaning in embarassment. My possessor laughed gently at my state within my mind. "I am with you always." They reminded me.

"I summoned you as witnesses before God, and man,"my voice boomed, my hand gestured to where Caleb crouched, even though I faced the angels before me. They dwarfed me by a whole lot. "that this boy, Caleb does not belong here. Or to him of all people."My eyes turned to fix a glare directly at the sinister figure in the shadows, putting as much venom as I could into the word "him". Never before had the word, 'him' sounded like 'disgusting scum of the universe.'

My father crossed his arms, expression growing unreadable while Michael and Gabriel simply stared at the same darkness shrouded spot.

That irritating laugh emerged from there and I resisted the urge to claw at my skin in extreme disgust.

"And who says so?" The voice asked cockily. It found the situation amusing.

Suddenly the dense wind left my mouth and I gained control again.

The wind quiet at first, blew all around me, running through my hair like fingers, calming my racing heart. I was so dead.

"I do, Samael." The quiet wind declared. "The girl is mine and so is the boy. The boy belongs to her. As much as she belongs to him. Return him back to her."

The voice in the shadows didn't sound so cocky anymore. "But he-" It started.

"You have done enough for today. Release and return him at once." The wind ordered in the same tone but I could hear the untold message: 'You are begging to be gotten rid of.'

Caleb was released and the chains clanged as they fell of his wrists. He took a step forward and swayed. I quickly moved forward, catching him before his face could kiss the floor.

"Hear what I say! If anyone tries to put asunder what I have joined, they shall feel my wrath." The angels bowed, and the wind circled a minute more then vanished altogether, the angels in its wake. The voice in the shadows said nothing, but I felt its gaze on me before it disappeared and the shadows slinked back to my father and I faithfully.

'Traitors!' I thought and smiled, but I stopped when I remembered my dad was still with me.

"You did not trust me enough to tell me." He said. It wasn't a question.

"I didn't know much except what I saw in visions, dreams and nightmares."

"I love you, that's why I try to keep you safe." He told me.

"I know Dad." I felt bad.

"Tell me next time." He commanded, carrying a now unconscious Caleb from my arms. He took a step forward but looked back when I didn't follow. I looked round uneasily.

'He is with me.' I thought as a wind blew that exact moment, then followed Dad home.

Word count: 1000 words

PS: The quote, 'Lo I am with you always' was taken from the bible. Matthew 28:20 specifically.

PPS: Jadiel's father, Azrael is neither 'white' nor 'black'. He's not 'brown' or 'yellow' or even 'red'. He's not human. Unless you know how an angel looks, please consider his skin colour is based on what he is. If he was bronze skinned, then that would make Jadiel darker than bronze but fairer than 'black'. Just to clear up any misconceptions.
