**** (escape)
"Ken!"
Ken woke from his rest as his name was called out.
"Hmm?"
"Quickly, you have to go now. There isn't time."
"What?" Still recovering from sleep, Ken noticed an image of a person beside him. It was Ayaka, and she was using the holopad's external speaker system to speak to him.
"The nsa.. they've discovered where you live and they're on their way to capture you now."
"Huh?" ken scratched his head as he yawned. "Don't you have soldiers posted outside to guard this place?"
"Its not enough." Ayaka said. "They're sending a big force. You have to get out of there before they arrive."
Ken suddenly snapped awake. The situation really was serious. He grabbed a coat and began heading out the door.
"What about my dad?" He asked as he walked across the living room.
"I've got my eye on him, don't worry." Ayaka said. "We just need to get you out of there."
"Okay, i'm going."
Ken made his way down the lift and out the doors to the car park. Already he could see the black car waiting for him, two men in suits standing outside.
However before he finished crossing the distance a man walked forward and stopped him.
"Excuse me young man." The man said, touching his arm gently. "Aren't you Ken?"
Adrenaline raced through his body. It was hard to see his face in the dark, but as if reading his mind the man stepped into the light and looked at him with worry.
Ken recognised his face, but couldnt remember exactly who it was.
"You are, right? Tell me.. do you know where my daughter is?"
"Daughter?"
"Sir, we must go now." One of the suited men had come over and stood facing Ken.
"Samantha. Do you know where she's gone? Its late at night but she's nowhere at home."
Ken widened his eyes. Samantha Kang. Then this man was her father? Ken remembered now, he had seen him that time he escaped from the nsa compound. But if Samantha was missing, where could she be?
"Sorry, i dont know." Ken replied. Not only did he not know, but Mr. Kang still worked for the enemy. There was no way he could trust someone like him.
"Oh." Mr. Kang looked down at the ground with worry.
"I told her something that might have agitated her. I hope, i really hope she hasn't gone and done something stupid."
Then Mr. Kang looked at Ken with pleading eyes.
"Please, if you find out anything, help her."
"O-okay." Ken replied.
"Quick!" Ayaka blurted out in Ken's ear urgently. "We don't have time."
"Ah.. sorry, Mr. Kang, I have to go now."
"Yes, of course."
Mr. Kang had a look of disillusionment on his face that made Ken worry, but he quickly followed the suited man down to the waiting car. As soon as he was seated and the door was shut the car swerved away and began racing out the apartment gate, down the side streets and onto the highway.
"Samantha's father.." Ayaka said ponderingly. "He really looked disturbed. I wonder if anything has happened to her?"
Ken felt a sick feeling in his stomach. Why were bad things always happening to them. It was like they had been plunged into a dark night and the dawn was still a far way off. Still, Ken could only believe there was a dawn approaching. It was too early to give up now.
