Previously.
I remained calm enough to fool the security team that I was fine long enough for me to get close to the exit once more and managed to slip out without anyone noticing, closing the door behind me without letting anyone, not even my mother, know.
I began to make my way down the hall.
Sometimes it makes me laugh just how much that I can get away with, but this time I was most grateful.
The eerie silence of the corridor sent shives down my spine, even the slightest noise from around the corner making me nervous.
Stepping as quietly as I could on the marble floor, coming to the end of the corridor, only to hear the sound of a gunshot echo all around me. I could barely make out what direction it was coming from.
I think that, at this moment, was when I started to become more mortified than I have ever been in my life. I become still, but I forced myself to push on.
Taking a deep breath, I made my way down the hall toward Leo's room. I've come too far to turn back now.
I stormed into the room only to find Leo laying on the floor rubbing his eyes.
I rushed over to him as quietly as I could.
"Leo, what are you doing? Are you okay?!"
He tried to lift himself by his arms, still sitting on the floor, I knelt over next to him.
"Leo," I whispered, "There is a shooter in the castle, now hurry up, we have to go."
He just kind of looked at me with a blank stare, causing me to get frustrated and shake his arm to knock some sense into him.
"COME ON! We have to go. S-H-O-O-T-E-R, SHOOTER, Leo!" I whisper yelled from frustration.
He looked down in disgust.
"I know."
"What do you mean you know?" I asked.
"It's my father."
At that moment Spencer came to the door and saw Leo and me, still in shock of what Leo said.
"Princess! We need to get you out of here! Leo, the Princess, come with me!" he stated.
"I need to tell the King about my father, he needs to be warned!" Leo yelled, holding himself from pain.
"He plans to kill the King," Leo said, with tears in his eyes looking up at us.
"Leo, we already have begun to make our way to get the King and take him to the bunker, but we must also gather you both."
"I can't go into that bunker knowing what my father is doing, I couldn't live with myself. I need to do something," Leo said with determination. I had never seen Leo so eager and angry at the same time in the 14 years that I had known him. There was no time to waste.
