Due to personal safety reasons I've taken down all of the photos of my face on this account. This is because unjust lawful action has been taken to some who have spoken out on the BLM protests going on. I know it may not be much on my part simply taking down my photos but I try to separate my personal life from this account best I can (I.e not many people I know personally are aware this even exists. Let alone the older people in my life)

If you are only aware of what the media is spreading I encourage you to go out and search for more reliable and accurate information yourself.

These protests don't turn violent until the police arrive

There are videos upon videos upon videos of police officers reacting with violence unprompted

Additionally there is footage of officers starting the vandalism and fires despite protesters screaming for them to stop

Curfews are being put into place at the very last minute to trap protesters, become more violent and make arrests

Children aren't even safe from the polices brutality and this is especially concerning because they are firing rubber bullets into crowds

Rubber bullets are large metal bullets encased in rubber

If you are attending protests try and do these things

- cover identifiable features (coloured hair, piercings, tattoos, etc)

- wear layers so if you are identified by police officers you can shed those layers and disappear into the crowd

- if you are white, protect your POC friends. Officers will likely try to get passed you in order to attack your POC brothers and sisters but you are at a much lower risk of being harmed

- don't use milk to wash out your eyes. This is seriously risky and can cause infections. Use water and liquid antacids mixed 1:1 with water. Don't touch your face, don't rub your eyes, the burning with last for a while but you have to be safe about how you treat the burning

- if someone gets shot with a rubber bullet in their eye get them out of there immediately. If the bullet is still in their eye, do not attempt to take it out, this will only worsen the bleeding. You can use clean cloth or gauze to cover their wound but do not press down. If they are hit in the eye they will very likely lose sight in that eye

- remember to wear a mask if you are going out, we are still in the midst of a pandemic

I can offer more information if need be but overal

- be safe
- protect your POC brothers and sisters
- make sure to help and assist the injured
