Chapter 9: Talking

Lena's POV

Kara sits down on the park bench. 

I'm shaking and trying to breath into a steady pattern. There is so much pressure because I really want to do this right. 

I start to talk. 'Kara I-'

But she cuts me off. 'No Lena, it's my turn to talk. You only have to listen.' 

I nod and keep my head down. 

Kara places her hand on my knee. 

'Lena look at me.' she says. 

We look each other in the eyes and immediately it feels like familiar.

'I'm sorry I got mad at you. After days of thinking I realised after talking to my sister that you had no other chance then to make that bet.' Kara swallowes. 

'Lena can I ask you something?' She asks while looking me into my eyes.

'Yes.' I whisper softly. 

'Did Sasha and her minions broke your wrist?' Kara asks while she tries to look me in the eyes. 

But I try to avoid looking at Kara and turn my head away I bite my lip and try to hold back my tears. 

Kara lays her soft hands on my shoulders and pulls me into a hug.  

'I'm so sorry I didn't noticed but I'm even more sorry that you had to go through all of this on your own.' 

I do not say anything. I cry my eyes out while Kara holds me in her strong arms. 

'I'm sorry.' I say when the tears stop coming. 'I just needed to cry I guess.'

'Of course. I'm always here for you. And it took me some time but now I know that you had no choice. You took the bet because you were desperate.' 

'I still am.' I whisper. Kara answers by hugging me tightly. 

'Can you tell me the whole story about Sasha bullying you? Maybe I'll understand better.' Kara says. 

'Okay. Well it started four years ago. I had just came to this school for the first time. Sasha was in my class and sat next to me. Honestly I really was a nerd at the time. But I kinda still am. I really love science, biology, history and that kind of subjects. But you already know that.' I say. 

Kara smiles. 'Yes I noticed. That's one of the things I really like about you.' 

'That I'm a nerd?' 

Kara laughs. 'No no no. Just that you are so passionate about those school subjects.' 

I blush. 'Well thank you. And what other things you like about me?' I ask. 

'Well I'll start with your beautiful green eyes, and your very sharp jawline. Your clothing style which is always on point with your dresses but especially your suits. Your gorgerous black hair. Your scent which always smells like roses. And I love your soft lips on mine the most.' Kara says without pausing. 

I'm a blushing mess. Kara pulls me close and kisses me softly. 

'I missed you.' We whisper at the same time and then laugh at our own comments. 

'But you still need to continue your story I want to know.' Kara says. 

'Well, I can cut it short. They started teasing me. It started off with just some comments soon they would pour orange juice over me and hurt me. When they found out that I'm gay they started bullying me more. And now they just break some bones of me regularly.' I tell.
