The first search and destroy mission was dreadful. We were carried out to hunt and eliminate any VC units hiding in the rainforest. Yet, it wasn't something near gracious. It was excruciating. I was so taken aback when Sergeant Chris announced Corporal Steven's death.
Corporal Steven was so jubilant when he got a letter from his wife saying that he's going to become a father. He was a pleasant friend.
Many men died an unspeakable death, but one thing is for sure, I made it through this unpleasant situations because of you. Those special memories of you will always bring a smile.
No matter how far you are from me and no matter how many things I want you to see, one thing is sure that you are never out of my mind. Your love is so pure and heart so kind. I am so lucky to have you every way.
I cannot wait for the future where we will have little ones running around and do all the awesome things we have always dreamed of in life. I don't know what I did precisely to deserve your never-ending love, but I am grateful that you came my way. You are my inspiration every day.
As soon as the war comes to an end, I promise you that I will never leave your sight again. I will hold your hand through our journey 'till we reach the light of heaven. I miss you so much my lovely angel.
There is one thing you should promise me too. If I don't return home after the war, you should not rot and perish. You should move on and be pleased. Remember, I want to see that gentle smile of yours when I'm standing by your side in my angel form.
Don't you worry about that. I promise you, I will come back home.
