Chapter 8: Saving

GALE P.O.V.

I stand on the same rock she told me to stand on. Katniss jumps of the rock like a delicate spring. Her dive gives the smallest splash possible.

I stand smiling at her. She looks as though the feeling of being in the cool water was a once in a life time opportunity.

She dives in the water again. She is swimming around for a bit, looking at coral, and then takes a breathe on the surface to dives a third time into the shallower end of the water.

This time something was wrong.

She didn't swim back up for a long time. My smile is now a frown. I'm becoming worried.

I can see red liquid rising from the shadowy figure under water and lying on the surface of the water.

I want to dive in to help Katniss but I can't move. My mucles won't work.

Katniss is splashing around like a cat in water but she can't seem to reach the surface of the water.

I am standing there just watching her trying to stay alive.

Sudenly, she stopped moving.

Now, I can move again. Without hesitaton, I dive into the water and swim towards Katniss.

I pull her onto land from under her arms and scan any visible inguries. I see multiple gashes in her face and arms.

I check that she is still breathing and fortunately, she is. Katnis is only unconcious.

The only way I can help her now is to carry her to a doctor and quick.

I pick her up in my arms and run with her back to district 12.

A.N. Ok so I haven't updated in like 5000 years but I have now. This was probably the worst time to not update because the other chapter was left on a cliffhanger.
So what's gonna happen next? No one know. Except me. But I won't tell u anything. You'll just have to wait till I update another Chapter...
