Did he just say ‘I love you’? Mitch thought, staring into Scott’s eyes. “What did you say?” Mitch asked.
“I love you,” Scott repeated, “well, say something.”
“I…” Mitch panicked. He needed to tell Scott the truth. He opened his mouth, but no words escaped. Without thinking; Mitch quickly leaned into Scott and merged their lips together. Scott stood shocked for a moment before giving into the kiss, finding rhythm. They pulled apart to breathe. “I love you too.” Mitch finally said, smiling from ear to ear.
Scott pulled their lips back together, beginning the same rhythm as before. They fall into deep passion as they move to the living room couch. Once they separated, they just sat staring at each other for what seemed like hours.
“Wow…” Mitch said, smiling.
“Yeah…” Scott replied. They sat staring like this for a little while longer until Scott broke the eye contact by searching for the remote.”You want to watch a movie?” He asked.
“Um… Sure,” Mitch replied, “which one?”
“What about ‘The Notebook’?”
“That’s one of my favorite movies of all time!” Mitch squealed; embarrassing himself like before.
“I know.” Scott giggled as he put in the movie and sat on the couch, allowing Mitch to lean on his chest. They watched the first 15 minutes of the movie before transitioning into a make-out session. Once the credits started rolling through, they stopped and then snuggled as they watched the deleted scenes.
At about 11pm Mitch got up and kissed Scott goodnight. He climbed into bed but sleep did not welcome him. He lay awake, staring at the ceiling until 12am. His head was full. He was thinking about Scott, thinking about thinking about Scott, and thinking about what he was doing. He exhausted himself thinking so much. Right before sleep called to him at 1:30am... he thought of Travis.
