Chrysanthemum:
Truth
∗·• ♔ ♥ ♔ •·∗Ethan woke up with a cloud over his head. The day was already colored by emptiness and boredom before he even had the chance to yawn.
He shifted in the bed, curling himself further into the sheets. Immediately his mind drifted over to Maze as he nuzzled his nose into her pillow, savoring her scent. He wondered where she was, what she was doing, if she was okay. But all of those questions were to no use since he had no one to answer them.
He felt sad. It had only been a couple of days and he felt more down than he had in a long time. He felt lonely.
He hated that he couldn't be one of those strong and independent men who woke up with a boner and manage to deal with it without anyone helping him. But Ethan couldn't seem to even think about releasing himself. He didn't want to. It was Maze's job and even as fucked up as it sounded, it felt wrong for him to do it. Like he wasn't allowed to.
The human groaned. But the boner sure was annoying. His body was so used to sexual release that even a day without it drove him insane. It wasn't healthy. Or was it? He had no idea. But then again she had dragged him down to hell, so the odds weren't exactly good when it came to this developing into a normal and healthy relationship.
Ethan hadn't really thought much about the fact that he was in hell, mostly because his focus had been on Maze. Now that he was alone and had time to finally take it all in it didn't hit him as hard as he had expected it to.
He was in hell. He knew he wasn't supposed to be, yet here he was. Laying in his demon lover's bed in the deepest abyss of hell. It was pretty ridiculous. He couldn't help but snort. He snorted. It wasn't supposed to be funny, yet he snorted. He wasn't scared, in fact, he was pretty numb to the fact that he was in hell. Maybe he was in shock? How long could that last? Would the terror suddenly just barge into his head all of a sudden and throw him into a panic attack? God, he hoped not. He wouldn't be able to handle that alone. Fuck he was so dependent on Maze it was ridiculous. He was literary aching in loneliness and worry. But he would do anything for Maze. Even if it meant being stranded at a shadows bay surrounded by scary shadows and guards all alone for a few days.
There was a limit to how bad things could get and Ethan was fairly sure that the limit was already reached. So it couldn't possibly get worse.
Five hours later he realized it in fact could. And boy, did it struck him hard...
After crying in the shower like he was in a dramatic music video, Ethan had walked into the kitchen and made himself some waffles with strawberry jam. The he went to the living room. He had stayed there for hours and hours, outstretched in a sofa, staring at the ceiling while daydreaming, since Maze didn't have anything besides old books to occupy himself with. Books that he couldn't read since they were in a language he didn't understand. He grew tired of them quickly to say the least.
When only staring at the roof become too boring he began to analyze the lines in his palms to try to predict his future. He had been at a fortuneteller with his aunt once when Ethan and his mom weren't a burden to her yet and she lived with them. After Ethan's father's suicide, she took it upon herself to move in and help raise Ethan, since she herself didn't have any family back then besides Ethan and his mother.
The fortuneteller had used the lines in his aunt's hands to predict her future. Tracing them as she rolled her eyes to the back of her head to create some dramatic effects. But after the many crazy incidents that had occurred in Ethans life, the human had begun to question if the fortuneteller had in fact been able to predict his aunt's future. Because her assumptions had been strangely on point.
