People say
You have to look a certain way
In order to be happy
In order to be okay
But that's not true
If only they knew
I hope they learn soon
That it doesn't matter
And it makes people sadder
No one wants to see
The beauty
In making people feel good
Which we all should
It's ridiculous
The meanest voices come from our conscious
And the people we call friends
One day we know our hearts will mend
It doesn't matter where we come from
Even if people call us dumb
We know we're not
Because we know
The hardest battles
Never want to be fought
Because of our image
But images are stupid
And have nothing to them
But the lies people want us to believe
And the way our brain tries to deceive
We know what's right
We try with all our might
When all we do is fight
When most people
Are more bark then bite
This is what the world has come to
Everyone wants but don't want to do
Looks looks looks
Is all they see
One day I hope someone can learn something from me
Beauty is in your head
And it's easier said
I know everyone has a chapter they don't want to read out loud
Because they're afraid of the sound
Mocking and teasing is a bore
And makes life seem like a chore
And leaves us wanting more and more
Why can't we focus on the inside
What's so wrong with that
Would that be so bad?
