Dear Diary,
So my life sucks. I thought today would be a normal school day, but apparently not. It all started when this new kid, "Clover" he called himself, showed up. For some reason, it was arranged that Clover would be "shadowing" me around school for his first week, just to get used to West Ridge High. We apparently had all the same classes. Seemed normal enough.
But this kid - he was just weird. He wore a baseball cap, which wasn't allowed at school, yet no one said anything to him about it. Maybe he was bald? But no that couldn't have been it because he had a curly beard. I was 16 years old and my classmate had a curly beard, and again against the rules and no one said anything. In fact no one even noticed. You would think someone would've made some snide comment or insult but nothing.
After English class, we walked to the cafeteria. Clover seemed anxious and constantly glanced around. I figured he was just nervous about his first day of school.
We sat down at a lunch table, our own lunch table as I wasn't exactly popular, and began eating .He glanced around and asked if I had anything unusual or strange happen to me recently. Okay, odd question but I let it slide.
Then he got real close to my face, his breath smelt kind of like loose change. Okay that was kinda gross.
He said, "Listen up, I don't know how long we've got. But I was able to find you, that means others will be able to do it too."
I laughed. What the hell was this kid talking about.
"Okay I don't know what you're up to, but trust me no one else wants me. You're safe." I assumed he had some sort of crush on me, which would honestly have been a first but still.
"No you don't understand," he said, clearly getting restless, "you're different. Really different. You know what we learned in Latin right? with the gods and stuff."
I nodded. Okay this was getting pretty interesting.
"It's real" he said, "all real."
My head started to spin. All of a sudden a crash was heard from across the cafeteria. The red double doors had crashed open and in walked a giant cyclops thing, that looked like it was straight out of a Harry Potter movie.
"Shi-" I started.
"We've got to get out of here," Clover whisper-yelled, "NOW."
He grabbed my hand and we bolted out of the cafeteria. As a turned around I caught one last look at the Cyclops monster. And he caught sight of me too....
(Hey sorry that wasn't actually much like a diary entry, I might just nix the diary entry thing and write from Cassandra's point of view.)
