The Sleepover

Will knocked on the door,and Mike opened it smiling. Just seeing Mike happy,made him happy (unless Jane was the reason Mike was happy).

"Sup,Madmax. Hey,Zombieboy." Mike said and Will smiled. "Hey, to you too,Frogface." Will replied. Max laughed and walked in. Though these were the names people had used to make fun of them,when they said them to eachother,they had no malicious intent,it was all in good fun.

When they got down to Mikes basement,Max walked around for a few minutes before asking "Is Jane here yet?" "No. She's on her way though." Mike replied. "I'm gonna go put her slushee in the freezer." "K." Mike said not even looking up from the stack of movies he and Will were looking at.

"Stand by me?" Mike asks, "No." "The Breakfast Club?" "Nah." "The Goonies?" "Yeah!" Will yelled. "Geez." Mike replied with a smile "What? I love that movie." Mike put the tape in the VHS player and Max walked down. "El's here!" She yelled. Will's stomach dropped as he heard the name. Great. Mike's gonna wanna spend time with her. Her. Everything's about her. When I was gone,they replaced me with her. They probably talk bad about me with her. Everything is her fault. Will thought as the brown haired girl walked down the steps.

Mike and Will were sat on the couch,and there was plenty of space,but Max sat down on the laZboy,and El crammed next to her. Max looked around, clearly frazzled,but trying to keep her cool. "What movie are we watching?" El asked "The Goonies." Mike replied without looking away from the T.V.

(Time Skip to after the movie ✨)

"Did you invite Lucas and Dustin?" El questioned, "Of course. They didn't wanna come though. Something about us being oblivious." Mike replied as he was setting up for a campaign. "What do you mean "oblivious"?" Max asked clearly confused. "That's what I asked Dustin,and he said "This is exactly what I mean." before hanging up." Mike said as he stood up to admire his work. "Huh." Will said "Which one of us is oblivious?" "All of us apparently." Mike said as he sat down.

They were setting up their sleeping bags and giggling around 2:00 A.M. They all shared their last few jokes of the evening and everyone fell asleep (except Will.) he couldn't. If he fell asleep,he would have nightmares,and he didn't want those. As he was contemplating on sleeping,he'd noticed his surroundings had changed. He started crying,no. Crying was an understatement. He was bawling,and shaking violently. Mike didn't know what to do,so he just grabbed Will and held him as close as he could.

Will snapped back into reality,and held Mike. "It was so dark." "I know." Mike said as he pat Will's head. "I was so scared." "That's fine. You're okay now. You're safe with me." Mike said and he whispered the last sentence into Will's hair. Will fell asleep in Mike's warm embrace.
