5:30 pm at Ainsley's house🏡

"Ainsley! Your BFF is here!!" I heard her mom shout as I stepped in the door and took my shoes off.

"Hey, hon," she greeted me with a hug. "Welcome back!"

"It feels like home," I joked as Ainsley hobbled down the stairs.

"Ohmigosh! Where is your wheelchair??" I asked, alarmed.

"Oh, my doctor said I could start using crutches now...but I was so excited to see you I forgot to grab them," she replied with a little giggle. "But I'll be fine."

"So I guess it healed quickly, huh?" I asked.

"Yup!"

When I got into the foyer, I saw a big house through one of her windows. It looked like someone rich lived there, but I didn't remember knowing anyone with a lot of money in Ainsley's neighborhood. The house was a deep red and had moss all over it. I looked at it closely and realized it was an apartment building! Suddenly I heard something shatter. I quickly covered my bestie's ears so that her concussion wouldn't get worse.

"What the heck was that?!? Someone just broke my window!" I heard Ainsley's mom scream.

"Oh shoot...I forgot my pink journal in LA! Wait..that IS it!!! My journal!" I panicked.

"I'm so sorry mom...I think that is Wed's journal!! She left it in LA today and somebody just RUDELY returned it," Ainsley explained.

"Phew!" I whispered to her. "Thank you for explaining. But I guess that's what best friends are for, huh?"

"I mean, ya, basically..." she whispered back. We were quietly giggling until Ainsley's mom ran down the stairs looking pretty mad. As soon as that happened, I realized it was Pablo who shattered the window, because I could see his pale face inside his apartment.

"OMG...who knows what he could have wrote in there?!??" I thought frantically.

"Ohmigosh is that Pablo?! What did he have to do with your journal??" Ainsley whispered to me.

"I mean, knowing him it was probably a love note," I said, shivering.

"Well, bring it upstairs and- wait, where's my mom?" she asked.

As soon as she said that, I looked through the shattered window again. Ainsley's mom was shouting at Pablo so loudly I could hear it all the way from where I was, which is way far away from the windows. I started laughing really hard when I saw how angry her mom looked and his pale face at the same time. It was just too funny! Ainsley asked what I was laughing at and I was barely able to point at the "scene" those two had just created. We cracked up until our sides hurt, and then I picked up my hot pink sparkling journal, purple and black book-bag, and teal box of electronics and followed Ainsley up the stairs.

"Before we do our homework...wait, I think someone's calling you," she told me.

"Oh shoot..." I thought, right when I realized my phone was ringing. I tried to recognize the ringtone but it was so weird I couldn't. Then I realized the call was from Pablo, even though the number was unknown to my phone. Hikaru texted it to me one time. I rejected it and soon heard a loud crack. I quickly covered Ainsley's ears again. I soon saw that it was Pablo's phone that I thought he threw on the ground...and then I realized it was Ainsley's mom that did that!

"Well dang..!" I whisper to Ainsley. "Your mom looks pretty mad."

She nodded at my comment, the same shocked look on our faces. Her mom looked like she just completely lost it and screamed her loudest at Pablo. I guess this means they would have to settle it fair and square. I texted Hikaru to tell Pablo they were facing each other in a "wrestling" (or whatever boys do when they fight) match. Literally, a battle. Just to see who won the argument. And even if one of them wins and says they are my boyfriend, I will just say no because I don't like either of them. Those two boys are just nuisances!!
