Day: 2
Time: 3.45 PM
Location: Fukurodani’s hideout. The broad-shouldered guy with a black fringe sat down in the soft armchair, that Bokuto had provided. Kuroo’s face was consisting of a smile reaching from ear to ear and two catlike hazel coloured eyes, where one was covered by bangs. Though people wasn’t really sure, if he had an eye under there, since it covered the eye completely, Kuroo’s sharp glance told Bokuto, that Kuroo already knew about his and Akaashi’s fail, and what he wanted for it, even though Bokuto hadn’t said anything. It didn’t help to the case, that behind Kuroo sat multiple of Kuroo’s best assassins, their eyes just as threating and catlike as Kuroo’s.
Bokuto knew that it was his territory, but because of his fail, Kuroo had full advantage, and his catlike assassins used every mean possible to make him feel even smaller. Their fingers toying over the guns placed in their belts, sitting on his tables with great self-confidence, like they owned the place, there was no sign of fear or anything else, that could show that Bokuto had a chance. But out of the bunch the one Bokuto felt most frightened over was the small build guy, he knew a lot about. Kenma. His eyes were sharp as knives, his fingers laying a bit too close to his belt, his almost pudding alike hair up in a small ponytail, so he could see everything, and his posture was way too confident for Bokuto’s liking. He knew Kenma’s history. Kenma was a master assassin, who could kill everyone in the room within seconds. Many people thought that Kenma should be in charge instead of Kuroo, but Kenma didn’t like the thought of being in charge. He just wanted to be allowed to take his kill and leave.
“Can we come to the business?” Kuroo asked. He crossed his legs and straightened his back more. Being up against the best black mailer in Japan, Kuroo used his body language as much as possible. He didn’t want to give Bokuto anything, that he could use against him. And even if Bokuto didn’t notice anything over his panic attack, his ‘friends’ sure would. The ones most possible to catch up on a small break in confidence was the messy, black haired Akaashi or brown undercut Komi, both had incredible sharp eyes and ears, nothing got past them. And from Akaashi’s worried face, it looked like, Kuroo’s self-confidence seemed real enough.
“We failed.” Bokuto delivered it, as it was. There was no need to sugar-coat it, Kuroo would look through it anyways, and his penalty would be the same. Whatever Kuroo decided it would be. He knew, that it was dangerous taking a job from Kuroo, but normally Bokuto could take any job, plus the pay way really high. Since Kuroo was in lead of Japan’s mafia assassination group Nekoma, he from time to time needed more info, before sending someone out for a kill, and since they didn’t torture or blackmail, he would ask Bokuto.
“I see.” Kuroo leaned forwards and itched his chin with his thumb, like he was thinking. “What are we gonna do about that?” Kuroo already knew, that Bokuto had failed, from the moment that he stepped into Bokuto’s hideout. Everyone had looked at them with some sort of hidden fear and worry, and Bokuto’s badly hidden panic attack confirmed it. “I’ll go easy on you.” Kuroo leaned back in the chair again. “Since we in Nekoma have had so many good experiences, with you and the rest of Fukurodani let’s say 30%. We want 30%, of what we should have paid you.”
Internally Bokuto sighed of relief, but he didn’t allow it to exit his mouth, since Kuroo would catch up on it immediately. “Deal.” He could see, that Akaashi and the others also had a few traces of relief on their faces. It probably wasn’t enough for Kuroo and his cats to notice, since they were trained in killing not reading body language. They had been let off easily. Bokuto had been sure of at least 50%, he had never thought of friend-discount. He was kinda scared, that the friend-discount could turn into a favour, that he didn’t want to pay off.
“Great.” Kuroo stood up and straightened his clothes. His tough act still wasn’t over. “Just transfer it to our account, if you need any info just call Teshiro-san, he will help you.” He didn’t even need to signal to his pals, that they were headed out, they were all already ready. “It was nice to do business with you, just sad it ended this way.” He reached out his hand for Bokuto to take as a sign of their closed business.Bokuto took it, and his hand got locked in a firm grip. “It was my pleasure, the money will come as soon as possible.” He twisted his hand out of Kuroo’s grip, and so as Kuroo walked out followed by his buddies. He sat down with his arm resting on his table and sighed. “We got off easy Akaashi.”
