Day: 7
Time: 9.56 AM
Location: Nekoma’s hideout.

Lev took a deep breath in and held out his gun again. He felt the whole world disappear around him, the only thing he could see, was the moving target below. It felt like everything around him was just a black mass, non-existence, not important. All sounds seemed to disappear, fainted away like someone shut down his ears. It was like, the whole world was him and the target. Just like it always was. A target so difficult to hit, he had to make, the rest of the world disappear. He placed his index finger on the trigger, took the last adjustments in the aim, and pulled the trigger.

Immediately Lev pulled all his attention towards the bullet. He so it as clear as day. The silver 22 calibre bullet cut, its way through the air. It seemed like, Lev had several seconds to study the bullet, study every little bump in it, every single material, every single shading. But in reality, it took less than a second, for the bullet to go from his gun into the wooden board moving from side to side 100 meters away from him.

The board stopped moving, as the bullet carved through it, as splints flew around the board. Perfect.

Lev felt the world appear again and sounds surround him, as Kuroo gave him a pat on the back “Well done! It’s a long shot of a pistol, but you did well. Seems like all those hours are starting to pay off.” Kuroo pointed his gun towards another board moving around on the machine, they had built. He took a second to place his aim, before he pulled the trigger, and another board stopped moving. “Now you just need to speed up. Who knows, maybe you will get just as good as the snipers.” Kuroo cracked a smile, as he pointed, towards Yaku and Shibayama sitting by one of the tables going over some different guns, and which was good for what.

Lev was pretty sure, Kuroo was joking, but he placed his gun on the table next to him and cracked his fingers with satisfied a smile. He had finally hit the board, ever since he had been chosen to be at the meetings, he had used all his time training. He didn’t want to be left behind. he didn’t want to be removed from the meetings again. He had his own reason for wanting to do good in the mafia.

When he was young, he actually believed in the authorises. But when his dad was beaten to give a false testimony, to a murder he didn’t commit, because of the pressure on the police from the press. He stopped believing in them. It didn’t make it any better, that his dad was sentenced to death pentyl. Normally you would have to have committed more than one murder to get that, but since the murder was so gruesome, he was given the penalty.  Lev would have been okay with it, if his dad actually had committed the murder. But since he didn’t, and still got hanged, Lev didn’t approve. Since that day his dad got hanged, Lev wanted to do go against the government. Even if it meant killing. The government had killed, so why couldn’t he. And for once he found a community, who accepted him. At school no one wanted to talk to him, because of his dad. Because apparently since his dad was a ‘murder’, he was too.

Lev walked out of the shooting arena, as they called it, and through the battle area, as an interesting battle caught his eye. Isn't a rare battle, but never less an interesting one, since it was between their master in battling with knives, and someone who actually stood against him for more than five seconds.

Inside of the hard-plastic cage, placed to prevent knives from flying out hitting people passing by, where a fight between Kenma and Kai. You see, Kenma may be the master assassin, but it wasn’t because of his precision with a gun. Sure thing he could handle a gun really well. But his most fearful weapon was his control of knives, his smooth movements, but most importantly: the element of surprise. Because of the way Kenma is built, no one ever suspect that he extremely is flexible. He can easily kick any item out of a person’s hand, and always use the persons surprise to his advantage.

You could see, Kenma respected Kai as a worthy opponent, because he had sat his hair up in a small pony tail, to prevent it to go down into his eyes. Normally he wouldn’t have to, because no one lasted long enough, or had enough power to make him use so much power, that it became a problem.

Kai looked over towards Kuroo, who were also observing the fight, for a second. Big mistake. Kenma noticed this and used the little moment to make a powerful high kick, towards the hand that Kai held his knife in. The kick was strong enough, to make the knife fly towards Lev. If it hadn’t been for the plastic, Lev would have been dead. Kenma had used the following second of surprise, to step forwards and place his own knife at Kai’s throat.

“Game over.” Kenma breathed in heavy quick breaths, he was tired, something he didn’t like. He pulled the knife away from Kai’s throat, and loosened the ponytail, letting his hair fall back into its normal place. “You are a good fighter.” He walked over and took the knife, he had kicked towards Lev. It was his knife, he just lends it to whoever, he fights against.

“But I still can’t beat you.” Kai was already on the way out of the plastic cage. His breath was even more heavy and fast than Kenma’s, sweat rolled down his forehead, and he had several sweat spots under his arms and on his back. He was even more tired, he was exhausted. But Lev couldn’t say anything, fighting against Kenma and coming out exhausted, was a good thing. It meant you lasted longer than a couple of seconds, which only few did.

“No one can, so don’t take it heavy.” Kuroo threw a bottle of water over to Kai, who caught it, and almost emptied it in one go. “Kenma is unbeaten.” He threw another bottle over to Kenma, who also caught it and took a sip.

“Stop making me sound unbeatable Kuroo.” Kenma put the knives into the belt and ran a hand through his hair. “I am gonna go, I am stinky and need a bath.” With that he walked off, and everyone went back to their own training except Lev. He stood for some time looking after the pudding head wondering, what made him join the Mafia. He knew, that Kenma didn’t have a good childhood, and that Kuroo’s dad saved him, but what exactly happened?
