Day: 7
Time: 10.50 AM
Location: Nekoma’s hideout
Kenma and Kuroo made their way through the long halls of Nekoma’s hideout. Kuroo’s grandpa, who had built the place, had on purpose made the layout confusing as hell. Long tunnels with dead ends, and way too many connecting hallways. Even Kuroo and Kenma had a hard time remembering all the ways and rooms. But after their house burned and Kuroo’s dad died a couple of years after. Kenma moved in, they moved into the hideout and rather quickly learned it. The hideout had a kitchen, living room, bedrooms, bathrooms to each bedroom, so it had, what they needed as a normal home.
Kenma sat down in his usual chair in the meeting room. The light shined down on all the papers laying on the table. Papers full of information, names, dates, addresses. He honestly never read any of it, even though Kuroo basically yelled at him to. He always made the kill without reading them, so why start now? It was only extra work. The only extra work he would do, was in a game. He loved video games and used all his free time on them.
“So as we all know Bokuto-san failed.” Kuroo stood by the end of the big table. He had a clear view of nine selected assassins in Nekoma to be present at the meeting, or actually eight. Teshiro was in charge of handling money and paperwork. He was fine with it, since he wasn’t so fond of blood. His only request was to be present at meeting like these, else he would quit, no one really knew why. “So, we need a new way to get our info. We could risk it and break into the house, we could give Bokuto-san another chance, or something third-”
Kuroo wasn’t allowed to finish his sentence, because in the middle of it, the phone rang. Everyone just stared at it, normally they wouldn’t take it in the middle of a meeting, but the person ringing made them question if they should. It wasn’t, every day they talked, and when they did, it was important.
Without thinking more about it, Kenma pressed the button to accept the call and put it on speaker. “What are you calling for?” He knew, he probably should have been a bit more respectful, and the glances from the others confirmed that. But he didn’t care, what good could come out of this rich guy calling.
“What is that way to speak to me master assassin?” Oikawa’s voice filled the room followed by a little giggle. “I got some information that interested me, and I suddenly understood, why you bought so many bullets. You need a lot of training, especially with those newbies of yours, no matter how promising you say, they are.” Everyone glanced over at the three assassin newbies, Lev, Shibayama and Inouka. The three had been allowed to be present at the meetings, because of how much potential they had. Kuroo wanted them to get used to everything as quick as possible. “I was over at Fukurodani with some ammo, when I heard, about who they had beaten. I immediately figured out, who you guys were after. I know him.”
“And what do you want for all the info, you are going to give us about this guy?” Kuroo knew very well, that Oikawa always had a price on everything. If it was weapons, information, contacts, it didn’t matter. Oikawa gave nothing for free.
“Well how about 15% of what you are getting? It’s not that much, but I mean, I already have a lot of your money.” Oikawa made a satisfied sigh. “Your man is rich, so he doesn’t go out much. He mostly holds parties at his own place and invites, everyone to come. He holds these parties every week, the next one is in four days. He went to a good school, an expensive one. Probably why, whoever your client is, can effort to pay you, he probably went to the same school. Your man has bought a couple of weapons from me, because he likes to shoot, and not always with legal stuff. He has probably also dealt with Inarizaki, it wouldn’t surprise me, if he did drugs. Well there is a lot of guards at his place, at least 10 is walking around outside. Inside I have no idea, I have never been there, but probably a lot too.”
“With all respect, we already know a lot of that.” Kuroo itched his forehead in annoyance. What did he just waste 15% of his payment on? It was true, they had asked Fukurodani, to get the kid to tell them their target’s plans, and Oikawa did tell, that he never really left his house. Not that it helped them much.
“I wasn’t finished. I might be able, to get you a blueprint over the house.” Oikawa’s voice was so satisfied, that Nekoma could hear it through the phone. They didn’t even need to see the smirk; they knew, it pasted over Oikawa’s face right at that moment.
“Can you just send it to us please?” Kuroo sighed. Sure, it helped them, but they would optimally have killed the guy outside his home. Inside was going to be a pain in the ass, with all the guards and security to get past. They would have to get someone to destroy the cameras or hack them. But just shooting them would be easier.
“Sure! Nice to do business with you, oh and your ammo is going to come soon don’t worry. Byeeee.” Oikawa hang up, leaving Nekoma in silence. There was this weird vibe filled the meeting room, they damn well knew, that this job might cost them their lives.
“Well.” Kenma stood up as the first. He hated this ‘we might die’ vibe, they were the assassins not the targets. If they died, they had taken, a job that was too hard. And that was their fault. “I am going to go to my room and play some video games.”
