Chapter 3: First night

(Y/n)'s POV

Watching the rain land softly onto the window I smiled to myself, knowing that I'm no longer alone in this world, that I've got people with them, for the first time in forever

I looked towards where Sora is, he was was lying down in his bed, his arms supporting his head

He had his headphones in, what colour? I don't know, it was to dark to make out the colour but bright enough for you to see him

He was on his phone his thumbs moving about on the screen, perhaps he's texting some one?

"Sora" I said his name, hoping that he could of at least hear me calling out to him "Sora!" I shouted his name out again

"Sora!"

"Sora!!"

"Sora!!"

"Huh" he questioned as he lifted up the right side of his headphones up and looked towards me

I pouted at him, why did he even have those in when he knows that I'm here with him, was he Igoring me?

"I was calling you!" I shouted at him, feeling myself becoming a bit angry at him, " you know I have my headphones I?" He said to me which sounded like a question

He sat up while placing his phone down and turning of the music, he actually did that to talk to me

Smiling, I run toward him before stopping at the edge of desk

"Look! Its raining!" I said to him as he just sighed and rubbed the side of hhis head, "is that all you wanted to tell me" he questioned and looked at me annoyed

Why was he annoyed? I don't thing that it was this bad, but this made me remember when I was still living in that box

It was just starting to rain so I had to run and find shelter while hiding from the big people in hopes that they didn't find me

Checking every alleyway for some sort of shelter, that's when I found the box, all was in there was a thin blanket, looking back at it now, I think kittens used to live in there

I managed to get in the box and closed the flaps, that helped somewhat

I fell asleep in corner wrapping myself with that thin blanket to help to keep me warm

"(Y/n), what was it like to be homeless?" Sora spoke up, getting me off memory line and look over to him, his looking put the window while his hand is on his chin, a bored look on his face

"Its..not really that great" I started and fiddle with hands, not all great things happened when I was living in that box

Sometimes cats and dogs would go over to me, sometimes you could some of there bones though their skin

Obviously they're hungry so they came looking for food, and that happened to be me

I don't really know what happened, I was running away from them and I managed to lose them but I think they found something else

Plus there was this one time where a drunk person, a man in his late 40s was walking down the alleyway, I was asleep when he approached my box

He opened the box - as it was normally cold out so I closed the flips- and screamed, instantly waking me up

When I looked up at him, he had appeared scared, but that soon changed,  hes look turned twisted

He crouched down and reached for me, scared, I obviously tried to get away from him but he was smart, well somewhat smart

"(Y/n)" a voice rang, he was no longer leaning on his hand instead they was on the desk "do you know how you was born?" He questioned

I sighed and shaked my head "No, but there is..something" this court his attention, he looked over at me of curiosity. "Go on" he said, waiting for the information but I cant

I can't let him know what I first remember, he wont stop asking me if I know anything else and who those people are, or worse, if they find out about what i told Sora then he could be in more danger

But the family is already in danger for me even being here, even mr okin's, I hope hes okay

Even so, that still means I can't tell him, i can't

"Its nothing..I dont remember anything" I said to him, watching as the rain drops slide down the window, silently cheering on one of the drops to beat the others

"What?" He breathed out, he eyes widened in disbelief "but you just said-" "Nothing!" I cut him out, now feeling sad as the drop didn't finish first but third

I was cheering you on!

"I just remember waking up in the alleyway okay!?" I said to him, hoping now he'll just drop it

"Your hiding it"

I looked down at the desk, as he watched me, never taking his eyes off me. "You know, all my friends hide stuff from me too" he started, hes eyes never leaving mine

"So I asked them about it, all they say is 'what are on about?' But theres this one idiot" he chuckled as he remembered one of his friends " his name is manabe and hes a fucking idiot"

I smiled at him and said "swear" he also smiled back  " sorry, but it's true, anyway you could tell his one of my proper friends, all he does is tease me and annoys me...but that is what friends are like I guess"

A thought suddenly popped inti my head "are we friends?" I asked him, courageous about what he might say

"Ehh..you know what..yea" I smiled slightly at him "really?! Really really?!" I asked him over and over again, excited that I might have a first friend

Mr okin wasn't my friend, I thought of him like my father, he would always look out for me, even when I didn't know about it

"Yes..really"

"Yey!!"

Sora chucked at me and went back to his bed, sitting on it as he watched me talking to myself, he can't really blame me as he is my first friend

"Okay, it's time for us to go to sleep" he said while yawning and putting his phone on changed by his nightstand

"What?..why? I'm bit even tired" I said to him with a pout on my face, its early in the night and he already wants to go to bed!

"I am..night" he said as he got under the covers and turning off his lamp and got on his side, facing away from me. I just stood there staring at him for a few seconds

I turned away from him and looked back at the window, a small smile on my face as the rain continued to fall down heavily
